"Another day. Just another day.." he says under his breath as he continues to walk down the same old street in his same old town, listening to the same calming tune through his earbuds. "Finally, out of school and away from stress.... Would sound nicer if I knew what to do after all this." He sighs rather heavily as he approaches the next intersection. He notices a newspaper lying on the ground beside him, and takes a look, "This is two months old..." The paper reads, "Godlike, Once More, Another Miracle..." Apparently this "Godlike" character has done nothing but save lives, he thought. "Cripes, we haven't had an obituary page in three years. I wonder if it's like this in every other part of the world..."

"I don't know, it's been really peaceful for the longest time."

He wasn't aware someone had snuck up on him. Looking behind him, he almost jumps back in surprise, "Sheesh, Sia, don't jump on me like that!"

"I can't help it, Zeph, you're always so perceptive, I have to try at least once in a while, and I finally got you good, didn't I?"

"-sigh- Shut it, hahaha, you know I hate that."

"Sorry, Z, you need to loosen up more, so what better way than a surprise attack?"

"...Uh, Sia, that usually tends to have more of a stressing effect than a relaxing one."

"Ah, shut it, and walk, Zeph." She retorts in a joyous tone.

Zephyr Reinard and Sia Niran, a rather irregular pair in a regular town, everytime they go out together, the air feels as though they couldn't be closer, yet never state anything of it. They've known each other for eight years and after graduating from high school, they've had more time to be together and grow closer.

"The whole idea of this man seriously bugs me, how "peaceful" he's made things..."

"Y'know, Z, I never thought of you who concerns himself with the concept of "peace"." Sia says whilst walking alongside the riverbank.

"Suffice to say, I'm not really a fan of peace."

"Oh, you're an anarchic type, huh?"

"That isn't what I mean, I just find a peaceful world to be rather boring, but I'd rather we all have some type of fun, I wouldn't mind just a little destruction."

"I think I understand what you mean, but don't forget, not everywhere in the world is sunshine and happiness."

"That's what He's apparently trying to pull off. I swear, ever since I've heard of this guy, I've been more and more anxious to know who this guy really is."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I want to know why he's disrupting the natural cycle of life. There used to be a balance, you know what I mean?"

She pulls out the paper Zephyr had come across earlier, "You noticed it, too, then?" Shocked at how she perceived it before him, and concerned with how depressing a tone she said it in, Zephyr begins to worry, "How long have you known?"

"Too long... My grandfather was dying of some unknown parasite eating away at him, no doctors here knew about it. "The best in the world", huh? Yeah, right... Two years ago, representatives from their corporation offered to help at no cost."

"The D.Vine Corp., right?"

"Right." She continues, "Still a corny name. Regardless, though, the weird thing is that they were supposed to monitor his condition and send us updates on his health and-"

"They never sent reports to your family?" He cuts in.

"Never, not even once. The closest thing I got to seeing how he was was through a newspaper, similar to what you read, title and all." They stop over at a nearby restaurant, the very same they've gone to together since they were fourteen, and today, they're offering an all you can eat special at a discount. "Nice choice, Zeph, my favorite place."
