"I haven't slept in days, but who's counting?"

Twelve days since Juno had slept properly, twelve days since gruesome nightmares that plagued his mind let up. Juno was staring distantly at the now cold mug of coffee in his hands. A soft knock came from the door. Another knock at the door finally snapped him out of it.

"Hello, Come in?" The door slid open and a tall silhouette stood in the doorframe.

"Juno?" The figure spoke as he stepped through the door.

Nureyev walked over to the detective's desk the click of his heels echoed in Juno's mind as he crossed the floor. Juno's vision was blurred as he glanced up at his boyfriend, he was met with worried eyes that slowly studied his face. Nureyev was quiet for a moment before speaking softly.

"When was the last time you slept Juno?" He asked and Juno shifted his gaze away from Nureyev's eyes to the floor.

He felt vulnerable in the presence of his lover and Juno didn't know how to deal with it. He felt like he was looking through a kaleidoscope and his head was pounding in his skull. He swayed slowly for a moment...THUMP his head hit the desk hard. Nureyev jumped at the sudden crash and immediately grabbed his lover's shoulders and shook him.

"Juno!? Juno, can you hear me?" His attempt to wake the man was unsuccessful and he knew that leaving Juno here would do no good.

Nureyev scooped up his detective and brought Juno to his car. He slept the whole ride to his house and then the whole trip into his apartment, Juno slept the whole time Nureyev fumbled with his keys and the front door's lock that sticks. He slept the whole trip up the stairs into his bed and finally after an hour of peacefully sleeping, he opened his eyes wearily.

"Nureyev?" Juno mumbled, half to his boyfriend, half to his pillow.

"Oh darling! You're awake! You worried me half to death you know!" Nureyev feigned annoyance as he brushed Juno's hair out of his eyes.

Juno caught Nureyev's hand before he could pull away and held it to his face. Nureyev's hands were soft and warm, he could smell the thief's cologne that lingered on his sleeves and skin. Juno looked at Nureyev, his boyfriends eyes crinkled slightly as the thief smiled at him. Juno pulled Nureyev closer to him and laid his head on the taller man's chest. Juno closed his eyes and felt Nureyev's hands holding him close, he felt safe. Juno Steel felt safe, and when he felt safe he finally got some much needed sleep.
