“Come in, Beomgyu.” Taehyun said, as he stepped back and allowed Beomgyu to enter.
As Beomgyu looked around, he could see one of the cats sleeping in the corner, while one was just playing with a ball and another cat lying on the couch, staring at Beomgyu with disdain.
It was the same cat Beomgyu had gotten annoyed with. The one that had brought in a dead rat on his doorstep.
“Hello?” Beomgyu called out nervously and the cat just hissed at him before jumping off the couch.
Beomgyu looked at Taehyun helplessly while the younger man just chuckled, “Don’t worry, Hobak doesn’t really like anyone…except me.”
“Ah…” Beomgyu sighed, before opening his bag and taking out a fish squeaky toy and went over to Hobak, reaching his hand out.
Hobak stared at him for a while before lifting its paw and smacking the toy out of Beomgyu’s hand and the older man jumped back with a yelp.
“Okay, I give up.”
Taehyun was laughing at the back before coming and placing a hand on Beomgyu’s shoulder, “You are so cute, Gyu.”
Gyu.
This nickname was used by anyone who was close to him, yet it never really had the effect on him like Taehyun had. He felt his body shudder and the combined effect of Taehyun using the nickname and his touch on him was beginning to overwhelm him. Beomgyu didn’t know if Taehyun realised it, but the younger man took a step back and asked him cautiously, “So…did you really come here to just give my cats gifts or…?”
“I came here to just give them gifts.” Beomgyu said and he saw the slight drop in Taehyun’s expression before continuing, “And to maybe spend time with you.”
Taehyun smiled again and it made Beomgyu’s heart flutter.
Beomgyu went around the living room, removing gifts and food from the bag before slowly placing them next to the cat. He was still cautious when he went near Hobak, giving her food and more toys he had picked up from the shop after which he plopped down on the couch, heaving a sigh of relief.
“Thank you, Beomgyu.” Taehyun said, as he sat down next to the older man.
“I haven’t exactly been the sweetest person to you, so this was the least I could do.” Beomgyu sighed softly.
“It means a lot.” Taehyun chuckled, as he gazed over at Beomgyu, “So…what do you want to do now?”
“If you don’t mind…” Beomgyu started, pausing for a bit before continuing, “I would just like to look at the photographs you had taken, from the beginning to now… if it is not too much.” Beomgyu quickly added.
Taehyun once again stared at Beomgyu with an incomprehensible look before shaking his head, a tiny smile on his face, “I don’t think I will ever understand you, Gyu.”
Beomgyu didn’t have time to ask the man what he meant by that as Taehyun got up and walked away to what Beomgyu presumed was his room.
After a few minutes, Taehyun came out with a photo album and resumed his seat on the couch.
“Okay…” He exhaled slowly, “This album consists of almost all the pictures I had taken.”
Beomgyu took the thick album from Taehyun and opened it up excitedly, his mouth dropping slightly open as he saw the first picture. It was the place they had gone to for Beomgyu to regain his motivation, and Beomgyu could imagine a younger Taehyun, standing next to his father as he excitedly pressed on the button to take the picture that would shape his dreams in the future.
