**Breanna's POV**My father was a man of great respect and honor within our community, yet his status did little to shield me from the harsh realities faced by the female omegas in our pack. Growing up, I lived in a bubble, blissfully unaware of the intricacies and struggles of pack life. For most of my childhood, I attended human schools where the pace of life was different, the expectations gentler. It wasn't until my freshman year that my world was turned upside down—I was transferred to New Moon High, a school exclusively for werewolves. In an instant, my life as I knew it shattered. I was abruptly removed from the comfort of my friends and the familiarity of my old life, thrown into an environment that felt foreign and daunting. Surrounded by a sea of new faces, I quickly realized that many of my classmates operated under an unspoken hierarchy, believing themselves superior due to their status within the pack. Among them was the Alpha's daughter, whose disdainful attitude made my transition even more difficult.Unlike most of the other wolves in our pack, I felt like an outsider. While the majority of my peers experienced their first shifts at sixteen, I remained unchanged, and that disparity weighed heavily on me. At seventeen, I was stepping into my senior year as the new girl with no safety net of friendships to fall back on. My father had been offered the position of head warrior in one of the largest packs in the Northwest region, and despite my hesitation, I chose to remain behind, convinced that my boyfriend, the beta's son, was my destined mate.My father, recognizing the significance of this new chapter in our lives, encouraged me to embrace the change. Little did I know how unprepared I was for the stark reality awaiting me. I had always been sheltered, and my views on pack life had been skewed. After all, I had grown up under the belief that our pack operated with a sense of equality and fairness, but as I navigated through my new school, it became painfully clear that the omegas were treated just as harshly as the others, if not worse. As I stood at the threshold of New Moon High, uncertainty loomed over me like a dark cloud. This prologue serves merely as an introduction to the struggles I would face and the journey that awaited me, as I sought to find my place in a world that seemed both beautiful and terrifying.
Author's Note: I'm thrilled to announce that I have given the Prologue a complete makeover! Yay!!! This updated version offers an abundance of new details, immersing you in the rich tapestry of the old pack's atmosphere and dynamics. The process of rewriting was an immense challenge; during my first attempt, I felt completely lost, unsure of how to convey the story's heart and spirit. However, after much reflection and hard work, I can confidently say that I prefer this version. I believe it captures the essence of the characters and their journeys far better. I truly hope you find this revised chapter enjoyable and engaging!
