so i know i broke up ricky and gina but i was reading the synopsis of the book and realized that i said ricky and gina were gonna be together so i linda have to put them back together. but i promise i won't torture you with rina i'll barely show them :) ok on with the chapter!!

Nini's POV:

and just like that winter break was over and i was all moved back to salt lake and getting ready for my last first day at east high

i'm so excited to get back into drama club with my friends

miss jenn is announcing the spring musical today after school and i couldn't be more excited to find out what it is

Ricky's POV:

second semester baby!

first semester had its ups and downs but right now everything is going my way

big red is coming back, nini is officially moved back to salt lake

oh and of course, i convinced gina that we can do long distance!

i'm so excited to get into second semester with all my friends and my movie star girlfriend!

semester two let's go!

Nini's POV:

I walk into school with kourtney and I get a sense of deja vu of walking into the first day of school last year. I stop at my locker and kourtney goes off to class

ricky and big red come up to me and ricky welcomes me bad to east high

"so nini, are you excited to find out what the musical is?" ricky asks me
"yes i'm so ready to get back to what i know and love which is east high musicals with all my friends" i say
"i hear miss jenn is planning something big for this semester" big red says
"yeah she says that and then it's just her version of a musical east high has done before she worked here" i say

ricky just laughs

the bell rings and we all head to class

the day flies by and now everyone is meeting in the den after school to find out what this semesters musical is

miss jenn walks in probably to give her normal speech

"alright everyone, listen up! i know we're all excited to find out what the musical is but before i announce it, i just want to welcome nini back to east high! and i also hope everyone had a great winter break and a great first day back! now shall we reveal the musical? can i get a drumroll please?..."

carlos reveals the poster on the board

"...teen beach movie!!"

Rickys POV

teen beach movie? it's about teens on a beach, right?

ok so i've never seen teen beach movie but i'm sure i'll still get the lead i'm pretty su- yeah ross lynch stars in it, you know, i've been told i look like a curly, brunette version of him

"literally no one has said that, dude" big red says coming into frame behind me
"yes they have, shut up dude"

Nini's POV

teen beach movie is my favorite! well aside from the high school musical trilogy of course

i cant wait to play mack! maybe ricky will get to be brady! oh of course he will, when has he not gotten the lead?

kinda glad gina isn't here to try and get mack, it'll just be me and ricky

ok look, i'm not trying to be a homewrecker in ricky and gina's relationship
but if ricky happens to realize he still has feelings for me and him and gina break up, i have nothing to do with that

"so ricky, are you going to audition for brady?" kourtney asks him
"yes, because that's the lead. played by i wanna say...ross lynch?"
"seriously ricky? i know i've made you watch teen beach movie before. yes brady is the lead and yes he's played by ross lynch" i have to clarify for ricky

as much as i love ricky being a theater kid, the only character he knows is troy bolton

Ricky's POV

nini said the only character i know is troy? that's so not true! i also know the guy i played in frozen, christopher, right?

when i get home that night i call gina to tell her the musical but she doesn't answer
makes sense, she's probably busy filming, or sleeping, i don't know what time it is in new zealand

i stay up all night practicing the songs from the movie to the point where i was singing cruisin' for a bruisin' in my sleep

Nini's POV

its my first time really doing a musical at east high since hsm last year

i'm sure i'll do good at auditions but i'm still nervous

i know things have changed since i left and they won't be the same as they were last year, but just being at east high, hopefully having a lead in the musical, is the most normal my life can get

my thoughts get interrupted by my phone going off. i look over to see a snap from ricky

i open it up to see a picture of him lying down with a caption "u up?"
i snap back and add the caption "yeah, u can't sleep either?"

he opens in but doesn't snap back
a minute later he calls me

"so what are you doing up this late, richard?" i ask him
"i can ask you the same thing" he responds
"i asked you first" i day and ricky laughs
"um yeah, i'm having trouble sleeping, i have from the past couple weeks"
i tell him i'm sorry
"i just have so much going on right now. college problems, parent problems, girl problems. sorry you probably don't want to hear about my relationship with gina"
"ricky it's fine, i'm sorry about all that, but if you ever need anything, you know that i'm always here" i say sincerely

i didn't get much sleep that night because i stayed up all night talking to ricky

alright and that's chapter 3!!
sorry it took so long to come out, but dw i havent forgot about this book yet i've just been super busy

anyways what did y'all think about this chapter?
