james shook his head and glanced at his best friend, "you don't need to be anyone but yourself eden. there isn't anyone i would trust more in my life to take care of my son." he expressed to eden, his gaze filled with pure honesty and adoration.

eden could only nod, her throat closing up as she held back her cry. james looked at regulus, both locking eyes as they exchanged an understanding look.

harry watched the interaction between his father and godmother and sighed sadly. harry couldn't begin to explain how grateful he was for his godmother.

eden had given him everything he could've possibly wanted in life. she went through hell and back to provide him the love and protection his father and grandparents had given her.

he wanted to believe that now that he'd gone back in time, he would be able to change what happened in his timeline, but harry also knew that if it came down to it his godmother would do whatever it took to keep him safe even if it meant her ending would stay the same.

she watched as the people around her became less as they all said their goodbyes and mourned the person they once knew.

regulus stood firmly by his wife's side as she stared tearfully at james' unmoving body, harry tightly in her arms as tears fell from her eyes.

his head veered around to see an approaching figure and gently kissed his wife's head before approaching the open casket and leaving the visitor to talk to eden alone.

"it was a beautiful ceremony." the voice muttered gently, earning eden's attention as her breath caught in her throat and a small, gloomy smile emerged on her face.

remus lupin didn't get a response from his best friend aside from the miserable expression as she leaned her head on his shoulder.

"moony! it's you!" sirius exclaimed excitedly, joyful to see his boyfriend on screen. remus merely nodded along with his boyfriend's excitement.

though sirius was bewildered as to why he hadn't been seen on the screen yet and was worried that he wasn't close to his friends anymore.

"where am i?" sirius questioned the future children, who all held back their winces before gemini piped up from her spot on her brother's lap.

"no spoilers uncle padfoot!" she cutely scolded sirius, who beamed cheerfully and leaped to his feet to take hold of the little girl into his arms.

gemini squealed when sirius positioned her on his lap as he sat back down and began to playfully tickle her, completely overlooking his previous question.

regulus watched the two with a faint smile. perhaps everything would be okay.

"he would have thought it was cheesy." she whispered as remus gently chuckled at the accurate declaration.

james nodded teasingly as eden playfully pushed his arm as they chuckled to themselves.

it was no secret that eden always thought of james as her sun, and that was the reason she wanted his funeral so early in the morning.

so the sun shone colourfully in the sky and warmed up the emotional day in hopes she could feel closer to the deceased male.
