Keeping Secrets | Resident Alien

Patience, Colorado

My new identity was now Kate Beverly, an assistant to Doctor Ethan Stone. He had received a notice that a small town in Colorado needed a permanent doctor. It was surprising that he wanted me to come with him considering there were others there that could help him.
When I arrived to the quaint town, I exited the vehicle to see a male child. As the human custom, I gave a smile to the boy. His reaction was to scream and run away. I tilted my head at the odd behavior as I was not accustomed to this. Could this child know I am an alien? Ethan came up behind me,
"That was an odd welcome. Anyway let's go inside and meet everyone."
I nodded my head as I carried a bag around my torso as I headed inside. Mayor Ben Hawthorne had greeted the two of us and had gave a tour of the facility. While the two of us looked around, Ben went to go tell the others. He had found Harry in the break room with the others,
"Dr. Vanderspeigle, you are finally off the hook. The new doctor has arrived. Why don't you all come on out and meet him?"
They all had gathered where the new doctor stood with a smile on his face as he was excited to meet everyone. The mayor spoke up,
"Everybody, meet the very accomplished Dr. Ethan Stone, our new full‐time doctor."
Those in the room applauded and gave warm greetings to the doctor. Hawthorne had went around introducing everyone to Ethan. Harry had spoke up,
"Hello, I'm here too."
Hawthorne had apologized before introducing the other doctor,
"Dr. Ethan, this is Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, who has been kind enough to hold down the fort until your arrival."
Ethan smiled at him as he greeted him before saying, "Oh, where are my manners? I have someone for you all to meet."
I had been walking around scanning the area as it was an interesting facility until I heard my human name being called. So, I walked into the room during the introduction,
"This is my assistant, Kate Beverly."
I entered the room with a smile on my face until my eyes landed on the other alien in the room.

-Harry's POV-

This new doctor that everyone loved. I was a likable and handsome man. Well, alien pretending to be a man. And of course this man had brought some woman with him too. I turned my attention over towards the doorway waiting to see this woman. I was sure that she was like all the other women who was in love with this new doctor. But what I had saw was far from being a human female. Before me stood an Arcturian. Those jerks. I must have been staring as Asta had nudged me with a smirk on her face,
"Don't forget about your wife.." She teased.
"Yes, my wife.." I nodded looking over at her before awkwardly going to the office to get my things. Of course that Arcturian followed me when no one was around.
"Why are you on this planet?" She said to me through telepathy.
