Surprise Trip

Missed Line

James' phone rang as he walked towards the building lifts. He tried to free his hand to get his phone as he saw the caller id on his smart watch.

"Hello, Phi. You called at the right time. Did my manager tell you when I finished work?"

"Well, thanks to someone for not checking his Line again!" The person on the other end sounded irritated.

"Aaaw! My Line got flooded with shopping ads I didn't see your text. Thanks for being patient. So where do we meet?"

"Come to B2 parking lot, Ter. Just wait for me by the pick up area so it'll be easier for me to spot you."

"Alright. See you in a bit then. Mwah!" James hung up and not long after the lift arrived.

As soon as the lift reached the parking lot and the door opened James spotted Net's car parked at the pick up area just few steps ahead. He watched Net coming out of the car and walked to the other side. James ran in tiny not wanting his phi to wait any second longer as Mr. Driver had patiently waited by the opened passenger's side door.

"Thank you, my lovely Phi", James landed a peck on Net's cheek then hurriedly got on the car.

Just when James was about to throw his things to the back seat he saw two luggage and even before he opened his mouth to ask Net grabbed his face and kissed him. Net's warm breath tickled his face. Familiar scents permeated his senses as he reciprocated the kiss. It was so soft and tender, the exact comfort he needed after a hectic long day.

"That's my first microdose of the day since you left really early this morning, Ter. I missed you." Another peck landed on James' lower lip.

"Aaargh... Shut up and start driving already. We're blocking the traffic, Phi."

"There. There. My grumpy kitty is complaining again. Buckle up first, Your Majesty. Or else I'm not gonna start the car and we're gonna live here in this very parking lot starting today."

James slapped Net's upper arm playfully before fastening the seatbelt. Net drove away slowly leaving the building and on to the hellish traffic of Bangkok.

As they hit the road the passenger tinkered with his phone searching for playlist to listen to set up more relax atmosphere before the traffic soured their mood. All while Net's focus was divided between looking at the road and watching his significant other looking so serious yet so cute. He could not help but caressing James' soft cheek that lead to getting himself a death glare.

"Spill the beans now. What's with the luggage on the back seat and why are you not driving us home? This road doesn't lead to our home, Phi."

"Who said I was taking you home. We're not going home tonight since we're flying to Japan in few hours."

"Why so sudden? I haven't even prepared anything. I haven't told Ma. I haven't given a proper notice to my manager either."

"Don't worry. I have our travel documents ready. I've prepared enough of your necessities in one luggage and mine in the other. Just call your Ma now and tell her that we're away for several days or else she'd think someone kidnaps her precious son."

"I dare you to kidnap me, Phi. I'm very expensive I hope you prepared enough money to pay my Ma back or else she would hunt you down."

"In that case I would offer myself as payment for her expensive son instead." Both laughed at the silly conversation that suddenly came up.

"Your manager and I actually have prepared this trip for some time. Without her moving your schedules around I wouldn't have been able to take you away for real, Ter. What a busy person you were lately."

"So what's the occasion that this busy person deserves a surprise trip from you?"

"I just want to celebrate our anniversary early, Ter. I can guarantee that you'd love what I've prepared for us. Don't think too much. Just sit back and take a nap coz you look so tired." Net kissed James' hand and ruffled his hair lightly.

James stared at his beloved person with honey dripping from his eyes. A slight smile painted on his drowsy but content face. Net turned the music down as he noticed James slowly drifted to dreamland.
