"Klaus." Thierry responded tightly, sparing a look in Brinley's direction giving her a small nod

"Follow me." Klaus said as he pulled Brinley with him

Klaus and Brinley walked hand in hand into the courtyard with Thierry walking behind them. Marcel and a few other vampires were already there.

"Dearest brethren, your attention, please. No doubt, you're all surprised to see Thierry Vanchure, who's supposed to be rotting in the Garden for the crime of killing one of our own, and I personally decided to issue him with a pardon. I hope you'll all welcome home Thierry." Klaus announced pulling Brinley into his side so he could wrap his arm around her waist and place his hand on her bump

Instantly there were smiles all around from the vampires making Brinley smile softly, even though she wasn't a big fan of any of them they did seem to care about each other. As everyone greeted Thierry, Klaus led Brinley over to sit on the couches where Marcel was.

"You're in a good mood. You should take Brinley away on trips more often." Marcel smirked

"That's what I'm saying." Brinley huffed making Klaus chuckle

"Well, as much as I might like to, I have pressing responsibilities here." Klaus said kissing Brinley's forehead before addressing the crowd of vampires. "Now, as you all know, the witch Davina is no longer with us. Without Davina, we can no longer monitor the activity of our witch neighbors. However, since their Harvest failed, their magic will soon be gone forever. Until then, I say we keep them on their toes. Diego, I wonder if you might lead a rousting in the cauldron."

Diego immediately smiles and starts to plan with the other vampires. Brinley looked over at Marcel who looked devastated at Davina being brought up as he grabs his bottle of alcohol and goes to storm away, but Klaus stops him in the doorway.

"Marcel, I'd hoped you would join Diego." Klaus said and Marcel clenched his jaw

"Nah. I'm gonna take a personal day." Marcel said pushing past Klaus leaving the compound, Klaus scowls, visibly annoyed at his attitude and Brinley stands up moving behind him and wrapping her arms around his waist

"Give him time Nik, he just lost the girl he sees as a daughter." Brinley said not able to imagine how Marcel felt, she was upset about Davina but she hardly knew her so she had no idea how Marcel felt right now

"Let's get you something to eat, you must be hungry." Klaus said changing the subject making Brinley sigh softly but nod nonetheless

Since moving back into the compound, Klaus made sure the kitchen was always stocked with food for Brinley since the other residents don't really need to eat "real" food.

"What do you fancy?" Klaus asked as Brinley took a seat on one of the island stools

"A cold turkey and cheese sandwich with mustard sounds amazing. With some grapes and a sprite please." Brinley smiled thankfully as she watched the hybrid construct her sandwich

Brinley had been in a phase recently where the only thing she could keep down were cold foods, she couldn't eat anything that was warm or hot. So sandwiches were quickly becoming her go to meal and sprite is the only thing that settled her stomach.

Even though pregnant women aren't really suppose to eat lunch meats or cold cuts, this isn't exactly a normal pregnancy. So she would take her chances because it was better than the alternative which is eating nothing.
