Kilian remained utterly perplexed, still struggling to grasp the unfolding events, his mind reeling in shock.
Once throbbing with pain, his head bore the lingering echoes of the accident, as he could vividly sense the lacerations coursing through his wounded body.
Shards of glass were strewn about haphazardly, while what had once been a plush car seat now lay in fragments so minuscule that its former identity was indistinguishable.
Kilian clutched his throbbing head, unable to form coherent thoughts amidst the cacophony of his disoriented senses, while the trickle of blood from his forehead further disrupted his attempts at comprehension.
His gaze fixated on a shadowy figure, enigmatic and elusive, retreating just as the deep resonance of the figure's voice reverberated within his psyche, uttering cryptically, "I had no choice."
But before Kilian could fathom the meaning of this encounter, the apparition receded, leaving him agitated and bewildered.
As Kilian gingerly opened his eyes, he found himself disoriented, unable to discern his surroundings.
He lay supine on a sterile, white bed, tethered to an array of bewildering machines.
Gazing upon his own body, he struggled to enumerate the myriad of bandages ensconcing him, while a profound ache radiated from his injured leg.
He attempted to articulate words, but his tongue felt leaden, inhibiting his speech.
Suddenly, an individual clad in a doctor's white coat entered the room, their blond hair almost ethereal, and their eyes an unmistakably familiar shade of green.
The doctor's penetrating gaze flicked from the machines connected to Kilian's body to Kilian himself.
An inexplicable shiver coursed down Kilian's spine, for though he could not recollect the doctor's identity, a disconcerting sense of recognition gnawed at him.
"You've awakened," the doctor remarked, a note of surprise perceptible in their resonant voice, yet tempered with an underlying reassurance.
Kilian struggled to articulate his thoughts, grappling with the lingering heaviness in his mouth.
The doctor's empathetic demeanor invited Kilian to inquire, "Why... why wasn't I supposed to awaken?"
Kilian was determined not to come across as foolish, but he needed answers, and the enigmatic doctor seemed to be his sole source of enlightenment.
The mysterious doctor cast a compassionate gaze upon Kilian, their regret for his predicament eclipsing any annoyance caused by his inquiries.
However, their demeanor remained resolute, unswayed by their own emotions, a hallmark of their character.
In their deep, resonant voice, they reiterated, "You weren't supposed to awaken."
This statement left Kilian befuddled, prompting further questions as to the nature of his unforeseen circumstances.
Kilian's vision clarified; he could still see blurred images, but he discerned another figure in the room.
A figure stood in the farthest corner, wearing a mask and an oddly-shaped metallic gray suit.
It looked completely enclosed, leaving no exposed areas.
Kilian noticed a bright hair strand escaping the mask, the only visible feature.
The mask seemed connected to the suit, with only one bright hair strand visible. The figure was too far away for Kilian to see its facial expression, but he shivered.
