Jacob was walking to his front door when he heard a strange noise and looked up at the roof of his house. He's usually a brave person, but at that moment, his whole body froze in place. It was as if his feet were stuck in quicksand. It only lasted for a split second but when he was finally able to take a step forward, his feet didn't listen to him. He fell on the ground like a heavy rock.
Eventually, he stood up, and all he could feel at that moment, was pure confusion. He was unaware of what was happening. There was no way for him to know the truth. So he simply walked inside his house and sat on the couch. With so many things happening, locking the door for safety wasn't reallly important to him.
He was in the quicksand again, but this time, his 'enemy' was his own couch. The only thing he could do at that moment was cry. And so he did. His whole body was frozen in place, but his eyes turned into a waterfall. That's when his gaze fell on something. It was laying on the table in front of him. He thought it was disposed of when he left the house today. But he was wrong. He reached for it, trying to understand the situation he was in. Could it be? No, he didn't believe in that 'paranormal stuff'. But what if? Maybe he's just going crazy. After what he just went through, it's really no surprise anyway. But...how? He looked at the photograph in his hand. He was gripping it so tightly, it's surprising that it's still there. But this is...impossible. Or is it? He traced the face of a girl in the photo with his finger, holding his breath as he did so. How? How is it possible that there was a hole instead of her face before and now it's gone? It couldn't just restore itself...right?
That's when he heard the same sound as he did before, this time outside. But now, he heard it coming from the kitchen. Maybe he should just run out and find someone to help him. But what if it was nothing? He didn't want to appear crazy to his neighbours. So he stood up, and made his way to the kitchen.
The strangest thing is, that when he entered, it was too late. His lungs were already out of air. His heart was hardly beating and the knife that stabbed him went deeper until he fell again. But this time he didn't stand back up. His last memory is looking at that photo disappear into thin air. And shortly after, everything went black.
