we're the others really right? did sasha's manifestations actually work? the idea of bertholdt coming between a relationship was pitched when he'd came clean to his romantic feelings for annie, but the outcome going your way was unheard of.

there it was again, ruling out the worst possible outcome about a situation so interchangeable. if armin came with annie then that'd be that. if he didn't then that would also be that. just leave it at that. you weren't capable of being a good enough girlfriend for arlert, even if you so desperately wanted to.

however the actuality of said boy coming without said girl almost made you squeal like a little girl. it felt like a grin full of teeth was trying to make its way onto your face.

but no, there were still important things to be mentioned, including questions and apologies to be served on a silver platter. do not falter.

"and even if she did ask to come with me i would've declined."

you're faltering, you're so faltering, and by now it didn't even matter. your head turns back, scanning his face that just showed he knew what he was doing. it's working, both of you thought at the same time, pleased with the outcomes.

armin was flirting! serious flirting, the type of flirting that seemed personal. as if he knew exactly what to say and how to say it. not just a lousy excuse of a pickup line to get some phone digits, this was that enticing stuff that kept people on their toes.

the voice that resided far within which was usually opinionated in all the wrong ways was even squealing, begging you to lean in and kiss the guy.

before even fully taking into consideration the inconvenience of depressive feelings he'd brought into your life within a week, your eyes dropped down to those irresistible lips. they were just asking to be pecked after all, not in words, but in energy. the inescapable emotion of infatuation was coming into play, making the distance between you two extremely infuriating.

"oh yeah?"

your tone was breathless, more like a whisper only for his ears, coming out more erotic than planned, and there was no thought behind the words except closing the gap between his lips. body slanted forward, inclining enough to be considered in his arms, body heat forming around you.

in that moment all that drama didn't matter, there was a need to put this burning tension to rest and no way would it be disregarded, not when you'd been unknowingly craving it all this time.

brush it all to the side because at the end of the day annie was absent, armin was here flirting up a storm, and alcohol was keeping this good buzz going. the questions and consequences could be saved for later, or maybe never depending on how well this night went.

as if you two had been built up of magnets, the force between was pulling intensely with hopes that there'd be friction met in the middle.

before the guy could even respond to what seemed like a question, his lips instantly were sealed shut with an eager kiss full of a passion that had been suppressed with time. it was captivating, and thrilling, just what was needed after all that time apart.

without much thought his hands landed on both sides of your waist, aching to pull you in to deepen the heartfelt kiss even further. in response, your own arms snaked behind his neck, entangling in his disheveled gold locks. his own tongue pushed to enter the cavern of your mouth which was allowed access easily, aching for it anyways.

there'd been a house full of guests, booming music, blinding lights, and conversations but they all canceled out. you pulled away after a few lengthy seconds, making it long enough to feel exasperated.

witness it, take it in, devour it, because who cares what someone chose to spend their life doing. who cares how other people perceived you, armin, or anybody for that matter. being intertwined with him felt so liberating, nobodies opinions could change that.

his eyes had a foggy daze, breathing heavily, hair was tasseled. he looked so incredibly good. how hadn't you seen it earlier? so good-looking that if in that moment annie was magically inserted into the mix, you definitely would've gotten proactive.

luckily that was not the case, armin was staring at you deeply with the same hungry eyes you'd been looking up at him with.

he'd have some explaining to do later, but now was not the time.

"wanna dance?"

armins heart had been doing backflips, the olympic winning kind. the courage he walked into the house with in order to spark up a convo tonight was slowly being drained when you stood breathlessly in his arms after catching him off guard with a quick makeout sesh.

this had been his dream since like, his first ever glance in your direction. every unsolicited fantasy of a future with a woman included you.

there was no doubt that even before the whole tutoring bullshit you had been the prettiest girl he'd ever laid his four eyes on, but it was even more so prominent tonight. there was something different about the way your eyes lit up, was it the lighting or the sudden reciprocating love they held within them he couldn't fathom.

those eyes always had a way of pulling him under, your skin was the perfect color, personal fragrance like a dream. hair tasseled around like a banner waving in the harsh winds of the world, smile like a sudden beam of sunlight illuminating the darkest corner of the room. he could go on and on about silly little reasons he found you irrevocably imperfectly perfect.

but maybe it'd just been how the unrelenting situation of noncommunication was now laid to rest.

as if no other person could come between the feelings seeping into each others bodies. even if some other chronic obstacle came up, it wouldn't matter as long as he knew you felt the same way, he would put up against any fight.

"yeah."

your smile widened more if even possible, grabbing the arm that had been holding your side in order to drag him along towards the living room that doubled as a dance floor.

he was so cute!
