i have no idea when i wrote this but i felt like shit when i did so enjoy this possibly months old oneshot (its probably from october.)

There is no intro to this book and there was a chapter before this but it's abandoned. I'm cringing a little re-reading this, also, near the end by the paragraph of bold text is supposed to be read by the time the song slows down during the part "I'll be fine, spending the nights, withering here by myself"

enjoy or don't, idrk. The first a/n is under this one

FLUFFY ANGST :D

The song up top is meant to be read with the chapter. If you are a slow reader, start the song from the beginning.

This chapter is cannon to the CQ AU.  Yes I ship Green x Purple.

The night was cold, the trees were dark. The grass was illuminated only slightly by the moonlight, as the trees swayed softly in the wind. The cool breeze felt calming in the dead of the night.

Fast yet soft footsteps painted the ground as a figure was seen walking in the nighttime grassy fields. They sighed and sat. Looking forward as they looked up at the moon and the stars. It reminded them of when they were younger, when they were closer to their best friend.

Even now, they felt as if they were drifting away from their old life, from home. When times were simpler. They felt tears start to form, but they brushed them away.

Looking at the moon, they smiled, as a meteor shower started. The old stories said if you wished upon a star, maybe it would come true.

So they sat and thought.

"I wish, that we could be close again. That the past could be let go and the future can be looked at...without fear.."

They sat in silence, watching the white dots fly across the sky. Being alone on nights like this seemed to be the only thing that allowed them to feel like themselves.

When life felt alone, they always remembered this place. To reminisce the past. They had been told before to let go of the past and make new memories. But it was hard to make new ones when it all felt empty.

They sighed and looked away. Looking down at the ground. They took their headphones out of their inventory, and started to play a song.

They sat in silence. Not knowing what to do.

Footsteps in the distance, not too far away from them could be heard. But not for them, the music was loud enough to drown any outside sound out. The figure in the distance recognized them, and walked faster.

Approaching, the figure noticed the headphones they were wearing. The figure hesitated, before sitting next to them.

-  The air felt cold, but suddenly, it was as if color was restored to their vision. Purple turned to see who it was, wearing Green's headphones, the music stayed loud. It was Green. They flinched, not knowing what to say. Tears started to stream from their eyes, even though their eyes couldn't be seen, if they could, there would be sparkles in them. They hugged Green, holding back sobs as their tears fell. -

Green hugged back, not knowing what to say, he said nothing. He didn't know Purple was like this; tears formed and fell. He didn't know.

"H-Hey.. Purple. It's going to be okay. I'm here for you. I'll be here for you no matter what. I promise." Green said. His voice was soft, and quiet. Yet, it sounded comforting.

Purple looked up at Green, they thought they wouldn't be able the hear the world around them, yet they heard him.

"I..." Purple tried to speak. They had been friends for three years, but tonight felt different. As if those three years happened all again tonight. They remembered how they felt complete with Green in their life, how he brought joy they never had.

All of it rushing back in seconds, it was overwhelming, but they managed to speak.

"Green.. I.. T-Thank you. But.... I.."

Purple struggled to speak.

"I..."

They got quiet.

"You've been here f-for so long. I f-felt like I-I.. was drifting away. T-That.. th-that.."
Purple stopped talking as their vision blurred from the tears.

"I d-don't want t-to l-leave y-you behind.. I d-don't w-want to forget y-you."
Purple said.

Green became silent. Trying to think of a response, but it was as if all words became mush.

"Being with you made m-me feel complete.. and.. I remember all th-those times.. Green I- I love you."
Purple said it. They finally said it. Green looked at Purple and smiled softly. Though he didn't know what to say, he understood. The two were so close, it had to happen at some point, right?
Purple said nothing else and rested their head on Green's shoulder as the song got louder.

The night would be long, but they accepted it. Even if Green wasn't the missing part of them,  they wish to be with him anyway.
