"Everyone gather around, we have a new player to welcome." The coach called us all to a huddle. "If everyone will introduce themselves."

"I'll start." Nicole spoke up.

One by one each of the players spoke up, myself included, only for the new player to speak up last.

"Last but not least..." Coach said, motioning to the final player, her face obscured by a hood and hair.

"Name's Y/N Y/L/N, Keeper." The figure spoke up, taking the hood off. There, standing in full Spirit gear, was my wife. I was stunned. "Ash..."

I shook myself from my stupor before launching myself at Y/N. "How?"

"My contract with Pride was over and I wanted to be closer to you... settle down, ya know?" She admitted, wrapping her arms around me. She leaned close to my ear and whispered. "Perhaps finally 'get married'."

"Alright you two... Let me remind you all that whatever personal relationships you may have, they will not come between the team dynamic." Coach reminded, before we all got back to training.

POV: Y/N

Ashley and I were relaxing at the house, just watching a movie, when my phone rang. I looked at the number that popped up.

"Vlatko?" I looked at Ashley for a moment and shrugged. I quickly answered. "Hello Coach, what's going on?"

"Y/N, how are you?" He asked, as I put the call on speaker.

"Doing alright, just a relaxing night with my girlfriend..." I answered, still wondering why he called. I knew that he would start calling people for the world cup, but I doubted I would make the list, given that there are several keepers ahead of me on the list of expectations.

"Sounds peaceful. I'll get to why I called quickly so you can get back to that." He said, taking a breath. "I hope your passport is up to date, you'll be needed for the World Cup."

I stopped for a moment before staring at my phone. "What?"

"I'm calling you up for the World Cup, Y/N." He repeated.

"Thank you so much Coach, I won't let you down."

"You are actually the last player I had to call. I'll send you the information and see you at camp." He said, before we said goodbye and disconnected the call.

I sat staring at the phone for a moment before I looked at Ashley. His words hit me. She hadn't been called up. "Baby... I..."

"Don't." She said softly, putting her hand on my cheek. "I am so proud of you, babe. So proud of what you are about to do. I'll be there, in the family and friends section and cheering you on."

"I love you." I said, pulling her into my lap.

"I love you too." She echoed, laying her head on my chest as we went back to the movie.

POV: Ashley Hatch

I was sitting in the friends and family section, watching the players warm up prior to the round of 16 match between Sweden and the US. I was wearing Y/N's jersey, chatting away with several of the family members.

"Today's Starting Lineup for the USWNT: Keeper Y/N Y/L/N... I'm sorry Y/N Hatch... Defenders Dunn, Girma, Ertz, Fox... Defending Midfielders Sullivan and Sonnett... Attacking Midfielders Smith, Horan, Rodman... with Alex Morgan as the sole striker." The announcer said, and it caught a lot of attention.

"Did they just say HATCH?" I heard someone a few rows ahead of me say. "Did Hatch and Y/L/N get married??"

I felt all eyes on me before I looked down. It seems I was being tagged like crazy on social media. But there was one specific one I paid attention to. I clicked on the notification.

There, on Y/N's social media was a picture of her in her keeper's kit, with our last name on it, instead of her maiden name. She had tagged me. I was shocked, but her caption made me smile brightly.

'Tonight, on the eve of our 5th wedding anniversary, I am proud to use my married name, for the first time.'

The game began. At the half, I could see Y/N messing with her shoulder more. I was worried but I knew she would do what was best for her. After the half, Alyssa Naeher took her spot between the posts. The game stayed at no score, going into overtime, and then finally penalties.

The cheers that went through the Sweden fans broke my heart, but I knew this would not be the end of seeing Y/N as a keeper for the National Team. As the team started to make their way over to the family section, I made my way down to the rail and pulled Y/N into my arms.

"Babe?"

"Yes my love?" She said softly.

"You did amazing... and I rather like our last name on your back." I admitted.

"OYE... HATCH." I heard a voice call out and I turned to face the voice. Kelley O'Hara and Emily Sonnett were standing there staring at the two of us.

"Yeah?" Y/N answered for us both.

"When the hell did y'all get married?"

"Um... Like 5 years ago?" Y/N answered, smirking as the news hit our teammates.

"AND YOU ARE JUST NOW TELLING US?!"
