Standing in the living room of the house that I had bought, boxes everywhere, I sighed. This would be the house that Ashley and I would share, finally. I had gotten her roommates to agree to a little surprise in a few days. I needed to finish unpacking and setting up the house. I had gotten my trade, but it hadn't been announced as of yet. I got to work, unpacking and setting everything up. I had furniture coming and being put together later this afternoon. Soon this would be a home, not just a house.

There was a knock on the door, about halfway through the day. I went to the door and found my fellow Spirit Goalies Aubrey Kingsbury and Nicole Barnhart standing there with bags of food.

"Afternoon..." I said, looking at the two women.

"Hey, so... We brought lunch." Nicole said softly, holding up the bags she had in her hands.

I invited them in and they seemed shocked at what I was able to get done before they arrived.

"Not that I am not glad y'all are here, but what are you doing here?" I asked, as I led the way towards the kitchen.

"Well we heard that you got traded and are taking up the third keeper spot. We thought it would be nice to actually introduce ourselves and get to know our new teammate... plus You are Hatchy's girl..." Aubrey said, shrugging.

I smirked, nodding. "Gotta make sure I am good enough for her right?"

Nicole smiled and nodded, while Aubrey looked at her nails as if she was unbothered. Nicole spotted her actions and elbowed her in the ribs. All three of us started laughing.

The rest of the day was them helping me unpack and set up the last few rooms of the house, leaving me to unpack our new primary bedroom. The furniture had been delivered and set up. As the sun set, Aubrey looked at me.

"You know... you seem pretty awesome."

"Thanks Aubrey. You seem pretty awesome too." I answered. "I think I am going to like it here."

"So... I have to ask." Nicole's eyes flicked to mine. "When are you gonna make an honest woman out of Hatch and marry her?"

I bit my lip and tried to stop myself from laughing. I wanted to yell out that we had been married for years, but I knew that Ashley and I would have to discuss coming out to the team. "Soon... that's why I wanted the trade."

"Understandable." Nicole nodded. "Well it's getting late and we have practice in the morning. When do you start?"

"Tomorrow, actually. My signing will be announced tomorrow afternoon."

"And Hatchy has no clue?" Aubrey asked.

"Nope. She thinks I am being resigned to Pride for another two years. I never told her that I was even looking at getting traded."

"Well then, we will see you at practice."

I walked into practice, and found I was the last to arrive. I looked down at my watch and saw that I was on time.

"Hatch... about time you got here." Aubrey yelled from where she and Nicole were talking to someone in a Spirit jacket with their back facing me.

"Am I late?" I asked, looking at Trin and a few others. They all shook their heads and shrugged.
