The Lost Prince

Chapter I

Nobody's POV~

"Crown Prince Nathaniel." A voice came from the door. Nathaniel immediately woke up and walked to the door, still wearing his silk pajamas. He opened the door.

"What is it, Cole?" He asked, leaning against the doorframe.

"Sir, we need to know what time you're free so we can schedule a date with the lady Lilly." Cole said.

"I think next week will work." Nathaniel said, slowly closing the door.

"Wait, your royal highness, what day next week?" Cole asked.

"Thursday," Nathaniel said, closing the door the rest of the way. Cole turned to leave the door and went to the kings office. He knocks a couple of times. The door opens, and the king is standing in front of him.

"Your majesty." Cole said, bowing in respect.

"Yes, what is it?" The king asked.

"His Highness, Nathaniel said that he is available next Thursday to meet the lovely lady Lilly." Cole said.

"Alright, put it on his calendar." The king said, closing the door.

Nathaniel's POV~

I was just thinking why I had to go on a date with anyone. I mean, of course, I'm not dating anyone, and its probably because I'm next in line for the throne, but they're overexaggerating. I will find the love of my life when that person comes to me. Right now, I just want to live my life before I get the crown and have all these duties that I need to do. It was night now, I decided to sneak out because the guards would just follow me otherwise. I made it to the woods and followed this path. It went far into the woods, and I didn't intend to go that far.

I just needed to get some fresh air. That is exactly what I got. I kept walking a little further , and suddenly I heard something in the bushes. I thought it was just a rabbit or a bird. I kept walking some more, I heard growling in the bushes this time. I tried to walk back, but I was off the trail and didn't have a flashlight with me. The growling got closer, and I started to walk in the opposite direction. Something was following me, I looked to my left, seeing red glowing eyes staring right back at me. I started sprinting while the creature was trying to catch up with me.

Before I knew it, I was running for my life. The creature caught up to me and pinned me down. Then, I felt something sharp hit my skin. Before I knew it, I was bleeding, and the creature had run off into the woods. I looked around me, seeing the palace in the distance. I ran to the palace, sneaking back in and looking at my forearm. There was a huge bite on my arm. I called for Cole, who is the person who handles my schedule and such. He burst through the doors, wondering what the urgency was. He looks down at my arm, seeing all the blood.

"My, my, what happened, your highness?" He asked, rushing to my care.

"Well, as you can see, I've been bitten." I said.

"By what?" He asked, cleaning the wound.

"A wolf." I said.

"And what were you doing in the woods at this hour, especially without guards there to protect you?" Cole asked, bandaging my wound.

"I needed to be alone for a bit." I said.

"Don't do that again, Nathaniel." He said as he finished bandaging my wound. "Now rest, we will figure out what to say to your dad tomorrow." He said, turning to leave.

"Tell him I got cut by my hand mirror." I suggested.

"Just get some sleep, Nathaniel." Cole said, leaving. I fell asleep soon after.
