I’m not being rude to Jeremy. I’m just doing what’s the right thing for both of us. It hurts inside but I am strong enough to take it. I’m not a selfish person because if I were like that, then I wouldn’t give a fuck about Lyla’s feelings.

Giving up something that you love is not easy to do. And what makes it easy for me to give up with him is that I remember what he did 2 years ago, when the time I beg him to stay but he didn't.

“Here’s your ice cream,” Jason said.

“Thank you,” I said politely.

“Lyla ask me if you can come tonight at her flat.”

Going to her sisters flat means seeing Jeremy again. I put more ice cream on my mouth just to give me a minute to think. I’m not comfortable meeting him again. But if I’m not going to take the invitation, obviously Lyla will start questioning the three of us.

“I’ll think about it first, Jason,” I said, biting the sides of the ice cream cone.

He was just looking at me as I finish eating the whole cone. I know he wanted me to come so he can brag me out to Jeremy.

“I’m coming.” He was about to burst out the word, Yes when I cut him off.
“But, I’m coming only when you fetch me at the shop.”

“I will! I will!” he excitedly say and give me a tight friendly hug. “Thanks!” he added.

I’m going not because I want Jeremy to get jealous about Jason, but to show him he don’t have to keep seeing me.

Good idea.

At Lyla’s flat.

Jason and I were walking towards his sisters flat door.

We knock on the door and Lyla open it up for us. He kisses Jason then me.

Actually she has a party to celebrate her new job.

“I’m glad you came,” she whisper and she smile then give Jason a wink. “Suit yourself guys,” she added and leaves us.

Every eye was looking at me. Obviously they knew who I am. That’s not really a relaxing thing. It pressures me a lot.

“It’s too hard to be your date or boyfriend,” Jason whisper, chuckles while giving me a cup of drink.

“Why?” I ask.

“Because everyone looks at you,” he answers and laughs.

I laugh to it too.

Jason and I are busy chattering and eating. I better stick with him because I fear about Jeremy giving him a chance to talk to me.

We all get shock when someone slam the door open.

Then I saw Jeremy step in. In his hand is an opened bottle of beer. He was really drunk.

Lyla went up to him and try to get the bottle but i stead he push her away.

“Congratulation my girlfriend for getting a job at that company!” he shouted.

“Jeremy please,” Lyla says, trying to stop him from walking and destroying everything he handle.

I could see in his eyes how angry he was. Even me didn’t see that Jeremy before. So I felt a little scared.

I grab Jason’s arm and grip it tightly. He pats my hand which was connected in his arms to let me feel everything is under control and he was there to keep me safe.

“You are really happy to have that fucking job! And then what? Get laid again for a promotion?!”

“Stop this! Stop it!”

“Are you afraid of what your friends will know?! Huh?! You’re a slut! A whore!”

I roam around my eyes and saw everyone whispering from ear to ear.

“I give you everything you want in life. I feed you. I give you this fucking expensive flat. And dress you like a princess. And then you let others to fuck you!”

I don’t know what’s going on and I don’t wish to know it. It is their problem not ours. He was getting so unreasonable to break the party. He was acting and talking so stupid.

“Let’s now leave,” I whisper to Jason and he nodded.

We slowly walks going outside when Jeremy caught us in his eyes.

Jason holds my hand tightly and led the way. I could see from the corner of my eye, Lyla was crying and Jeremy was walking towards the door.

“Wait. Wait,” Jeremy stop us.

I look at him. He was so pathetic in his looks. It wasn’t the Jeremy I fall in love with before, he was like the other person now.

“Let us leave, Jeremy,” Jason asks him formally.

“I want to talk to her. For a minute,” Jeremy insists.

“This is not the right time to talk Jeremy. You are drunk and I think you should clear these things up,” I said in a low voice.

Jason takes my hand and tries to push Jeremy slowly until Jeremy give him a punch.

I was shock and I was just there, standing and watching as the two f them giving back the punches. No one tries to stop them, even Lyla. She was really shame for what had happen and instead run to her room.

I ask some big guys to let them stop fighting and they did what I tell them.

I didn’t wait for Jason, I just leave the place. I don’t want to see them hurt each other again. And find a taxi as fast as I could to take me away in that place.

Jeremy’s words being threw to Lyla keep on flashing into my mind. Maybe he wasn’t lying. No one will ever dare to tell anyone such things if it wasn’t true at all. But he was wrong in shaming her, he should have talk to her in private. Though she have done it, it doesn't mean he got to power to shame her.
