The Crash

Chapter 1

Sitting in the rain. The rain was pouring the thick liquid down my face. The rain didn't help the cuts heal but instead stung and burned them.
I'm tired. Alone.

Cars drove by, assuming the police were on their way. They drove past in shock and horror.
My dog managed to pull itself out of the wreckage, limping to me and whining and crying for help. I pulled her onto my lap and said, "It's okay, cleo." I struggled to hold my tears. I stare at the lifeless body in the wreckage.

A car did pull over adventually, and I didn't turn my head to see the man getting out. He shouted at me, asking if the emergency services were on their way.
I didn't reply.
When he got close and touched my shoulder, my head slowly turned up to the man, my eyes filled up with emotion. He took his phone out and finally called the police and ambulance. They came; the police took my dog to the vet, and the ambulance took me and my lifeless father to the hospital. The man who pulled over explained the situation, and when the police thanked him and asked if he would like to come with them for the family, the man went on and told them that he was in fact going home to see his wife and his newborn son and denied the offer. The police understood.

In the ambulance, I was questioned by a tall, lanky man. He asked who I was, what happened, if I was hurt, if I could talk, and so on, but I never looked at him or answered his questions. A woman sat in front of me and asked the question, "Do you know this man?" Pointing at the lifeless body, I looked at her tears again filling my eyes. "Yes, he is my father. We were driving home after cleo's haircut appointment. Normally it's him and my mother, but yesterday we went on a huge hike and her atherrightus kicked in and it hurt for her to walk, so I went. Cleo has attachment issues with my mother so much that my mother has to sit in the back with her in the car, but without her, my father thought this would be a good time to teach Cleo that it's okay to sit in the back without her. And she was calm and relaxed most of the time. But then my mother called, expressing how she saw us coming up to our exit on the Highway on Life360 and was asking if we could take the one after which lead to a shopping centre square place so we could buy her an e-liquid. " I exhaled.

As the paramedics focused on my dad, but still listening, I continued;
"Cleo started whining as she could hear my mother, my dad refused and said he was taking our home exit and he would get an e-liquid from the coner shop, but my mother screamed at him and how he never listens, and that's when everything was brought up, yelling, screaming, all that happened, and just as we came to the exit, everyone fell silent as I tried to calm my dog, who doesn't like the yelling. My dad sighed, explaining to my mother that he could get it closer to home and had no need to pass the exit. My mother was quite, and we waited for her to talk or hang up, but as we slowed down as a roundabout came up, my dad spoke again: 'I need to focus on this roundabout; it's a dangerous one, so stay silent until I say so. You can't argue with the driver when it comes to safety, so everyone stayed silent."
We grew closer to the hospital;
"There was this driver, he was spinning round and round the roundabout, unsafe, my dad needed to time and avoid this driver so we could be safe... but as my dad saw the timing to be right and pulled out to go around the bend, my mother screamed down the phone, not a word or anything just a scream, my dad jumped and hit the brakes, the wreckless driver spun round the roundabout and hit us, dragging it with us as it continued to drive, it took the exit we were going to take, stopped, reversed, and hit the acceleration, hitting us so hard the car flipped over as he managed to continue being a wreckers driver... then it goes black."

The paramedics were in shock as the doors opened to take us in.
