Atsumu and Osamu weren't very close until 7th grade because Osamu lived with his uncle most his life because of their father. Atsumu being a mamas boy stayed behind for his mother resulting in Atsumu having severe daddy issues which makes him boost his ego to get behind it.
Komori is basically Sakusas hype man cheering him on for everyone because when Sakusa does attempt to communicate and go into small crowds Komori is with him because he's Sakusas safe person considering their cousins.

In this AU, Sakusa and Atsumu knew eachother just not personally as they knew eachother from playing volleyball.
Atsumu and Osamu are attached by the hip and are basically each others comfort person even is Osamu doesn't trust Atsumu much.
