I had a habit of being late. I knew it was a really unhealthy habit but I couldn't help it. I was a procrastinator at its finest. People started telling me an hour early on when to arrive at their social events. I didn't really care, in fact I encouraged them to. Airports didn't do that however. So it should come to no surprise that I was late. I went through luggage documentation, and security in a rush.I couldn't be late. I was finally going to meet my mom after an overdue time. I was really happy to finally see her. I finally arrived at my gate at lightning speed. Oh my god. They were already boarding. I frantically looked through my bag as I got in line. "I wished I had better time management." I thought to myself as I looked at my passport and my boarding pass. I breathed a sigh of relief. After everyone had boarded I was the last one unsurprisingly. The flight attendant looked scared and tense as she checked everyone's boarding pass. It was probably a rough shift for her I assumed. Once it was my turn she seemed to ease up. "Thanks for choosing us to travel with you today ma'am!" she said brightly as I handed her my boarding pass. She slipped a loose leaf piece of paper in-between my boarding pass. I was insanely confused but I didn't have time to question it. go on. She gave me back my passport with a letter inside it. I looked at her with curiosity but then she rushed me to go. Really weird but it might be private so I decide not to open it till Im actually on my seat. As I awkwardly shuffle through I finally find my seat. I opened the letter she had given me.
There was messy handwriting, a mixture of cursive and print and it read:Rules for surviving this flight: Do not speak of this sheet to any passenger. You are the only human on this flight. Check the time on your phone after reading this sheet. All rules will apply based on the time of your phone.During the first hour, do not talk to anyone. People might try to talk to you but ignore them completely. During the second hour of the flight you may start talking again but if anyone mentions the window do not look outside the window under any circumstances. If you hear a child crying in the cabin immediately run to the bathroom. If the screen of your entertainment console goes black immediately look away, do not stare at it.During the third hour, the captain will make an announcement following the instructions. During the fourth hour of the flight, do not sit in your seat. If you make it past the fourth hour, spend the rest of the flight evading the chaser. You will know who the chaser is when you see them. The captain will announce the plane leading. As soon as you hear this push the exit door and open it. There will be a black void jump into it without hesitation.
Clearly this woman was insane but it's still scary. I breathed in, scared to do anything. What kind of sick joke is this. I checked the time on my phone: 4:54. Yeah, I think I'm going insane too. I looked at everyone around me. God, I was so scared. They seemed... human? That might have been stretching it. They eyes had no soul in them. They seemed like monsters or maybe I was having hallucinations. Talking to anyone was easily stainable, I could do that. But jumping into a black void? Was there still time to get off and issue an official paper of insanity under my name? Nope, we are already going under safety issues. Safety. What a joke. The "man" next to me asked me why I was traveling. I had to ignore him. I don't know why I was actually listening to this stupid piece of paper. He kept on pestering me. I had to ignore him. I tried to breathe in but honestly what if it was true? This was a matter between life and death. I had unfortunately been stuck in the middle seat, right in between the "monsters". Also, "What the fuck is the chaser?", I thought as I lose my sanity. To my left was the man who kept on asking me why I was traveling and to my right was a "woman". She looked human, I mean how can you really tell if someone is human? Take-off started before I expected it to. This was my first time flying and it felt so weird. If I tried to sit up, I just couldn't. I don't know how take offs are usually supposed to feel like so this is probably normal. I hope. The woman next to me tapped on my shoulder and asked, " First time flying?" "Yes." I thought. I have to ignore them. Ugh. Why were they trying so hard to talk to me? Unless... No, this stupid prank letter couldn't possibly be true. Yet again, if I'm the only human on this flight then I am going to try to survive. As soon as someone mentions the window during the second hour I'm going to start listening and if no one mentions it I just won't listen. Easy peasy.
