The grating noise of Holly Blue's voice floods the hallways as she yells at the roommates, again. Peridot woke up to this, and fell asleep to it.

"GOD DAMNIT JASPER! I TELL YOU A MILLION FUCKING TIMES NOT TO DO ALL THAT STUPID SHIT AND YOU DO IT ANYWAY!" Holly shouted.

"Holly! You told me once, and that's right now! Quit finding reasons to yell at me! If you hate me so much, fight me!" Jasper yelled, her sadness turning into pure fighting spirit before everyone's eyes.

The rest was a bunch of unintelligible yelling, a few loud thumps, and a lot of scared screaming. It all ended right as Peridot went to get up and yell at them for fighting.

"I'm gonna go spend the next couple days in that old motel up the street." Peridot said, already exhausted even after a good night's sleep.

Peridot put on her small, black, square glasses and grabbed her very oversized hoodie with a lion on it that said "Don't Mind The Mane," her usual huge shirt, and some sweatpants. After getting this all done, she took her phone off the charger and walked down the stairs into the living room.

"I'm gonna leave. I'm gonna come back when you all don't argue for more than 10 minutes. I JUST woke up." Peridot said, scowling.

Ruby and Sapphire looked truly concerned, while Holly Blue Agate and Jasper kept arguing.

"I did NOT! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS AGAIN HOLLY?!" Jasper yelled.

Before any of them could say a word, Peridot walked out, down the large staircase, right onto the old, dusty sidewalk. The motel was only right up the street, so Peridot grabbed her headphones from her car and began walking. Lucky for her, the song that began to play was her favorite.

"Can you kiss me more? We're so young, boy We ain't got nothin' to lose, oh, oh it's just principle
Baby, hold me
'Cause I like the way you groove, oh"

As Peridot quietly sung along, adjusting her glasses every now and then, she stumbled in on the old Motel. She walked in, and the first thing she saw was the tallest, most beautiful lady she had ever seen. She ignored the ruined carpets from beer stains, and at least 30 cigarette burns on the walls and chairs JUST so she could talk to the lady. Ravenwood was a shitty, crimeridden city anyway.

Looking down at the floor most of the introduction, obviously bored out of her mind, the lady looked up only once at Peridot.

"Welcome to the Crimson Inn. I'm Lapis. And No, there isn't a room without cigarette damage." Lapis said in a monotone voice.

"I wasn't worried about that. Are there any rooms open for the next few days?" Peridot said, blushing a bit.

A few clicks on her computer later, and Lapis's eyes lit up.

"Yep! May I ask though, how old are you? I can't rent the rooms to anyone under 18 without a guardian. Hey, by the way, you look-" Lapis said, being cut off by Peridot.

"Yes, yes. I know I look 12. I'm 19." Peridot said, slightly annoyed. "I get asked that a lot."

"I'm legally obligated to ask everyone that. I was gonna say you look like the neighbor I have a few apartment complexes away from me. I'm gonna check you into a room, but I need your name." Lapis said, with a smile on her face, giggling at Peridot's reply. "You look 19."

"My name's Peridot Abadeer." Peridot said, smiling.

Some more clicking later, and Lapis gave peridot her key.

"Room 228. We have breakfast and some other cool stuff, I hope to see you around." Lapis said, smiling.

"Do you have a slip of paper?" Peridot asked awkwardly, obviously blushing deep red at Lapis.

Seeing peridot blush made Lapis blush as well. "I do.." lapis handed Peridot a slip of paper, and Peridot wrote some quick notes on it and handed it to Lapis, smiling before quickly and awkwardly walking off. The paper read a strange string of words...

(928) 726-2992
PERIDOT ABADEER
ROOM 228
Meet me after your shift. :)

Lapis blushed after reading the note. It didn't feel real. Plus, Peridot was such a pretty girl. Was she serious? Her shift ended in less than an hour.

Back in Peridot's room, it was really nice, but old. A few cigarette burns here and there, but nothing too bad. The bed was comfortable, the couches were nice, the TV worked, and there was no screaming from Jasper and Holly...

...But there was no food.

Peridot decided to order some food, as she was hungry and they didn't really have a complimentary dinner. Breakfast has passed and she had to shop for some stuff later anyway. She opened her food delivery app and ordered some Chinese Food, which was her favorite. Too late for breakfast but too early for dinner, so why not just have her favorite?

It took a bit, as she ordered from a nearby, not shitty area. She ended up napping until she heard a loud knock on her thin, old door. She did get her food fine, but midway through eating she heard a knock on the door. Getting up, she opened the door and saw Lapis in a grey hoodie and leggings walk into her room. Weird, because lapis was wearing a band tee and jeans when she was at the desk.

"You seem distracted." Lapis said, giggling. "I went home and changed. This outfit doesn't follow the dress code, apparently."

"I liked your shirt. Are you wearing it under your hoodie?" Peridot asked, oblivious to what she's about to find out.

"Thank you! But no, I'm not. Does anyone wear a shirt under a hoodie?"
Lapis said, giggling.

A blush spread across Peridot's face, before she stuttered a bit and sat down on the bed. "Y-you can sit down by me.."

"Gladly." Lapis said, smiling. She leaned close to Peridot, hopefully making her happy.

Peridot noticed lapis leaning in, and she blushed again, trying to hide it. Being in Lapis's presence made her happy. Peridot ended up hugging lapis which made them both smile. Not long after, A yawn escaped Peridot's mouth.

"I'm so tired. I barely got sleep because my roommates ALWAYS argue." Peridot said, sleepily.

"That makes sense. Do you want me to go so you can nap?" Lapis said, a bit sad that she may have to leave already.

"No, no. I'm gonna stay up or I'll never sleep tonight." Peridot said, yawning. "I have an energy drink somewhere."

"You didn't come in with a bag or anything." Lapis said, a little confused.

"Shit, I left it at home." Peridot said, laughing. "I'm usually not this tired, maybe I'm just not used to the quiet."

"Do you wanna go get something from the vending machine?" Lapis said.

"I probably should" Peridot said. "I'll be right back, stay here."

Peridot got up and smiled at Lapis warmly. She was the most beautiful woman Peridot had seen in a long time. Walking outside the room, there was a vending machine with various snacks and drinks maybe 10 doors down from her room.

Peridot had to stand back to look at everything in there. Her usual Redbull seemed to be out, so she just got some Monster, which surprisingly, was always her second choice. On the way back to her room, she noticed how broken a lot of the stuff in that place was.

Back in her room before too long, she walked in to sit next to lapis before she wasted no time opening the drink and taking a sip. Nothing like some good ol' caffeine.

"Do you usually drink those big cans of Energy Drinks?" Lapis asked.

"No." Peridot said, taking a big sip. "I drink tiny cans. Look at me, I'm a fucking barbie."

Lapis laughed at the remark.

"No you're not." Lapis said.

Peridot felt a strange way. What was the deal with this girl? She was so... Nice?
