I awoke from my sleep state, feeling dozy and unsuspecting of what the day might bring. My mind was full of the 2 new faces; they made me toss and turn that night.

I actually spent hours last night before getting to sleep trying to figure them out. Yes with no avail, I still knew nothing.

I jumped out of bed and ran for the shower, today I was going to make a statement, and hopefully, a good impression. I stripped out of my clothes and slid into the shower, the hot twinkles of water ran down my body, making me suddenly feel refreshed.

I think I'll go for cute and innocent today, of which I am, but they don't need to know that, I thought to myself as I jumped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around me.

I went to my full length mirror and stared at myself. What to wear? I thought as I stared at myself for a few more minutes. Then it clicked.

I grabbed the hair dryer and started to style my hair, letting my long wavy hair drop into ringlets of curls down my back. Maria smiled at herself and started to pick what to wear. Going through my wardrobe I found my slouch black boots, grabbed myself a pair of black skinny jeans.

They fit me well, hugging my legs in all the right places, showing that I had curves. I'm not fat, but I'm not anorexic skinny either...

I grabbed a slouch top with a hole in the back; it blended in well with the rest of my outfit. Now for make-up, I grabbed my make-up box and started to rummage through it and decided for a Smokey look, I grabbed my dark grey eye-shadow and puffed it around my eyes, making them look twice the actual size, carefully I then applied mascara, fanning out my long eyelashes and applied a little of eye-liner, to complete the smoky effect.

I took 2 steps back and stared once again. Perfect I thought as I smiled and grabbed my bag from the floor, skipping out of my room and down the stairs. As I made my way down the stairs I heard giggling, the first voice she heard was, yes, the all mighty Sophie. There was another voice, no, another 2...

Jason and... Cole?

What's he doing here? She thought to herself, peering her head round the kitchen door to see Cole sitting next to Sophie. And what's that I see... her hand in his? Playing with each other's fingers... When did that happen?

I would normally be un-happy to see this, as Sophie did not confide in me, but this time she felt lenient, after all, my mind was full of a something else.

"Good morning" I smiled as I entered the room to where Jason, Cole and Sophie were which as usual, is the kitchen. Guys only ever think about food... Or cars... Or girls... I laughed to myself, earning myself a strange look from the 3 that stood staring at me.

"Morning sis, what's this? New look?" He asked, staring, obviously not agreeing to the new look I had chosen by the face he was pulling at me. I thought it would be a great idea, a fresh start, a new year with new first impressions. "Yeah, do I look okay?" I asked, suddenly nervous of my appearance

Cole piped up suddenly "No you look good Maz, it suits you, definitely adds some years on you" Cole winked at me, my confidence boosted a few notches

"Thanks" I said shyly, walking over to Jason and stealing a piece of his toast. "Hey! That was mine!" Jason retaliated; I had to fight back a laugh. I loved to tease my brother, besides, he was my brother, and it's my job.

It's not right for a sister not to be a pain in the ass. It's in the rules under, Take advantage of brothers' car, Maria smiled to herself.

Me and Jason had always been close, through our childhood, he made me cry, but then he also made me laugh. As I grew older, Jason became more understanding, he was always there to look after me in those times of need, and he swore to protect me from anything that came me way. I appreciated my brother for that; he was always there when our parents weren't.
