Sodor and the Visitor from Space

Beginning

Duck whistled as he pulled into the station at Tidmouth Halt. He stopped next to Oliver, who was pulling his two coaches, Isabel and Dulcie, as well as his loyal brakevan, Toad. Duck happened to be pulling two bogie branchline coaches at the time.

"Hello Oliver, how's your day been?" he asked. "Oh, just fine" the green 14XX replied. "Can't believe it's the 78th anniversary already!" Duck knew the 78th anniversary of the books inspired by their antics, stories and misadventures was coming soon and a festival was going to be held to commemorate it.

"Um, Mr. Oliver, sir?" came a voice from behind. Duck knew that voice. It was Toad. "Yes Froggy?" Duck replied jokingly. "I think I can see something in the air!" the brakevan exclaimed. Oliver, though he knew Toad was being serious, decided to reply "You can't see air, silly!"

Then, they heard the screams. They seemed to be coming from the sky, which both confused and scared the two engines. Then, a coin shot through the air and smashed one of Dulcie's windows! More soon began to fall, with other items occasionally falling, such as a backpack and what seemed to be a tent.

Oliver, without missing a beat, shrieked "RUN!!" and took off! Duck wasn't about to stay, either, as he began to quickly reverse down the line. Soon, he crossed off the branchline, and onto the mainline. As he ran, he continued to hear the screams, until they were suddenly cut off, and an odd popping sound emanated from the sky.

Duck finally stopped at Lower Tidmouth, and contemplated what he had heard. By now the noises had stopped, and the only noise was of a passenger's phone. Duck could make out a news report about five hikers going missing while attempting to climb Culdee Fell. His mind could not make the connection yet, but in retrospect, it was obvious.
