During lunch, my best Annalyse walked up to me. We've been friends since 7th grade and went to the same high school together. We always go to each others houses out of the blue and we tell each other everything.
As she sat down next to me, I remembered the handsome man I saw by the bus stop. Lyse noticed I was zoning out and waved a hand in front of my face.
"Hellooo. Earth to Sapph."
"Oh, hi Lyse." I said vaguely.
"'Hi Lyse'. What's wrong with you? You're not acting normal." She asked, concerned.
"Oh it's nothing."
"Sapphire Diamond! You tell me what's wrong with you right now." She said sternly. When she says my full name that means she won't take no for an answer.
"Okay, fine. I'll tell you. This morning when I was waiting for the bus I saw this guy. I'm not lying when I say he's the most handsome man I've ever seen. We accidentally made eye contact and neither of us broke it until the bus blocked my view of the man." As I was telling her, a huge smile spread across Lyse's face.
"Oh. My. God. Sapph it's destiny!"
"What? Destiny?" I asked, confused.
"Yeah! Didn't you look at today's horoscope?" She asked.
"No I was running late and it slipped my mind. But what does that have to do with destiny?"
"Today your horoscope, Aries, said that you would have an encounter with your soul mate!" She exclaimed happily.
"What? No way. If you're talking about that guy he already has a girlfriend. I saw her with him." I explained.
"Who knows? That may have been his sister." Lyse said. I was silent after that. Luckily, Lyse dropped the subject.
"Oh, yeah I almost forgot! Tonight the planetarium is having the meteor shower show. I know you're obsessed with stars, so do you want to go with me?"
"Of course!" In my excitement I completely forgot about my next class.
"Crap! I have to go Lyse! Just text me later!"
"Ok! See ya later!"

A few hours later....

I'm standing in line at the planetarium to buy tickets for Lyse and I. The line was very long when we both arrived. I told Lyse to wait while I bought the tickets. Finally! I'm next!
I looked up to the woman selling the tickets.

"Two tick-" I cut myself off when I saw her. It was the same girl who was
with that handsome man this morning! She looked concerned as she talked to me.
"Are you okay ma'am?"
"Y-Yeah I'm fine." I replied quickly.
"Two tickets please"
"Coming right up." She printed out two tickets and I gave her $20 dollars.
"Thank you... um" I looked at her nametag.
"Jessica. Thank you Jessica."
"You're welcome. Enjoy the show!"
I was in a daze as I walked to where Lyse was waiting.
"Hey, are you okay? You look pale." She asked worriedly.
"I saw the girl again"
"What gi- Wait the one with the hot guy!?" I just nodded my head.
"Well what's her name?" Lyse inquired.
"Jessica."
"Did you see the guy with her?"
"No she was just selling the tickets for the show."
"Speaking of the show, we need to go find seats before the best ones are taken!" Lyse exclaimed. With that we walked into the show room.
"Hey! Sapph look over there! There are two open seats in the middle!" We dashed through the crowd making a beeline towards the seats. Many eyes turned to watch us on our quest towards the seats. Right before we reached them, two men had already seated themselves.
"Aww we were so close!" Lyse cried. One of the two men turned around suddenly.
"Oh were you going to sit here ladies?" He asked. The man that spoke had medium length blonde hair and golden eyes and a princely aura about him . The man next to him had light brown hair in a half up and light brown eyes and had a mischievous aura.
"Oh um..." Lyse stuttered not knowing what to say.
"Ikky let's give these seats to these two pretty goldfish. We can watch them from over there."
"Alright. Oooh Teo there are two seats that are close to theirs."
"Come on let's go before they're taken!" The two men 'Ikky' and 'Teo' dashed off towards the back of the room. Lyse and I looked at each other, shrugged, and sat down in our newly acquired seats. And right on time, too. The show had begun.
I looked at the ceiling, preparing to be amazed by the 3D planets and stars, but what I saw was even more amazing. Stardust fell on top of the audience, including me. But where it was falling from was a mystery. It was so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I turned to Lyse and saw her, mouth hung open gazing at the stardust. Suddenly, planets began to pop up on the ceiling, along with shooting stars, and asteroids.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw two people standing on the platform with the controls. When I looked closer, I saw it was Jessica and the man I saw earlier today. Jessica looked like even she was mesmerized by the falling stars, while the handsome man just smirked at her. He slid his fingers down her cheek to get her attention, which worked. He held her chin in her hand and covered his lips with her's. I immediately turned back around in my seat. At that moment, the stardust was beginning to subside too. When the last stars had fallen down, Lyse abruptly turned to me.
"Oh my god Sapph! That show was so- what's wrong, Sapph?" she cut herself off.
"Huh?" I asked confused.
"Sapph, why are you crying?" I brought my hand to my cheek and found that it was slick with my tears. I didn't realize I was crying.
"I-I don't know." I stuttered. With that fresh tears welled up in my eyes. Seeing that, Lyse put her arm around my shoulder and gave me a hug.
"Let's go to the restaurant near this planetarium for dinner. Is that okay with you?" I nodded, not trusting my voice. Lyse led me out of the crowd and we walked the short distance to the restaurant.
After Lyse ordered our food, she sat down opposite of me. I had finally stopped crying.
"So Sapph why did you suddenly start crying? You're not much of a person to cry much less cry for no reason. Actually this is the first time even I've seen you cry." I was wording what I should say in my head, but different words spilled from my mouth.
"During the show, I saw Jessica again. She was on the platform where the controls are, but she wasn't alone. The man I saw earlier today was with her. And t-then they k-kissed..." New tears started to well up in my eyes but I quickly wiped them away.
"So you started crying when they kissed?" I nodded my head.
"I know it's stupid of me to start crying out of nowhere. Can we talk about something else, please?"
"Sapph..." I didn't want to talk about this anymore because even I didn't know what I was crying for. Thankfully our food arrived and forced us to change the subject.
After we finished eating, Lyse and I went our separate ways to get home. As I was passing by the planetarium again, I saw Jessica and her boyfriend walk out. I stopped in my tracks and watched them walk ahead of me. I snapped out of it and continued walking towards my apartment. Since they were in front of me and were seemingly going the same way, I felt awkward, as if I was following them.
Suddenly, the man snapped his fingers and they both vanished into thin air. I stopped, mouth agape at what I just witnessed. Two people vanishing just at the snap of the man's fingers. This reminded me of the time I saw them at the bus stop. Could they have disappeared like this then too?
Maybe I was just sleepy after a long day and was just imagining things. Or I just witnessed something impossible. Either way, I know that the handsome man wasn't just an ordinary human. Or not a human at all.
