"Go wait in the lobby I have to go do some stuff then I'll meet you out there ad we can head to your house." You nod making your way out of his office and into the lobby, despite the warmth of the day you felt a shiver go up your spine.
Walking out of the workspace you took a deep breath of the lobby air, feeling much more refreshed away from the foul smelling air.
"Hey (Y/N)" A soft feminine voice spoke, you look over to see Jade smiling at you.
"How are you? It's a real piece of work in there huh?" She says sympathetically.
"Yeah, and not to mention the smell." You both say in unison. You let out a small laugh.
"Why is everyone I've met who works at this office name start with a J?" You ask quizzically.
She lets out a deep laugh nodding in agreement.
"Yeah, it's actually a requirement for the job. Sometimes people have to change their names to J names so they can get work here." He jokes back as she scribbles down some numbers on a small piece of paper.
" You seem fun and I know you just moved here, so lets hang out at some point. Maybe get shit faced together." She hands the paper with what you assume is her number written on it.
Jed walks through the door you came from only moments earlier,
"Come on we gotta hurry." He says pulling you along with him towards the exit.
"B-Bye Jade!" You squeak out hurrying after Jed he walks into the street unlocking the car door, you sit down next to him in the front seat.
"Ready?" He asks pulling out of his parking spot.
You nod in response and your both off.
Time Skip
The first thing you see as you and Jed pull up to your home, are police. And lots of them.
Yellow police tape covers the broken window with a few officer scattered around the front of your house with one guarding the door.
Jumping out the car before Jed's even properly put it into park you stomp your way over the police officer at your front door.
"What's going on here?" You grumpily demand. This day had already started off shit, and having to deal with pigs cops was the last thing you needed right now.
"Are you reporters? If so you can clear off this is a serious investigation so you can scram. We don't need your interference." He states as he sent a hard glare at Jed who had made his way up behind you, he seemed to know who he was.
"No. I'm the owner of this house." You respond matching his hostile energy.
"Ah." He said straightening up his posture as you said that, seemingly not expecting that to be your answer.
"Well, in that case were going to need you to come down and give a formal statement on what happened here-" You quickly cut him off, anger evident in your tone as you do so.
"I'm not going down to the copshop to do shit. Leave. Let me into my house." Venom laced your voice.
"I'm afraid we can't do that- "he began once again.
"Under section 459A of the Crimes Act 1958, a police officer can only enter private property without the owners permission without a warrant if they have reason to believe the home owner or residence within to have committed a serious crime. So officer unless you think I broke my own window, which either way isn't a crime clear off." You state in a monotone voice.
