"Damn it." I droned as I twisted my car keys in the ignition again. The engine rumbled to life before cutting out. I rested my head on the steering wheel and groaned, wondering if I could get away with not going to uni for the day.

There was a tap on the window and I nearly shat a brick as I saw Mason staring at me in the dim light of our garage.

I wound down my window and stared at him, waiting for a sparky remark.

"What's wrong? I thought you left ten minutes ago." He said, peering inside my car and gawking at the leather interior.

"Car won't start." I mumbled.

"What was that, sweetheart?"

"Car won't start!" I spoke a little louder climbing out and pulling my bag with my books in it over my shoulder.

"Well, I guess you'll have to walk then." He gloated, walking off towards his car with a swagger in his step, his leather jacket hugging his broad shoulders.

"Mason?" I called in a sugary sweet voice, hanging on to the glimmer of hope that he might let me ride with him to campus.

He looked back at me expecting me to continue my question, but I just grinned at him praying he would understand. He just rolled his eyes and shrugged.

"Fine." He dragged on the word with a groan walking to the left hand side if the white ford. I galloped and clapped my hands towards the car reaching for the handle when I heard the roar of an engine and Mason rolling forward on a sleek black motorcycle.

Oh no.

I stared at him incredulously. He did look hot, I mean smoking hot but there was no way I was getting on the bike with him. Dad had let me on a bike, saying it was too dangerous 'there is nothing between you and the road' he'd said.

"You know what, I'll just walk." I said turning on my heel and walking towards the door of the garage.

"Oh come on, sweetheart. Don't you ever get bored of being a good little girl." He asked with a smirk.

I pursed my lips and scrunched my eyes, sighing sharply through my nose. If he didn't stop calling me good little girl I was gonna punch him in the-

"Ashley, come on; I'll drive slow." He reasoned, reaching behind him and lifting a white helmet.

I walked slowly towards him and his hand holding a helmet towards me.

"I'm not a good little girl." I whined, slinging my bag so it sat safely across my body, putting on the helmet over my hair. It was open in the face while his closed off at the front with a dark screen.

"Not after this you won't be." He smirked at me with a laugh, giving me a knowing smile before pulling his helmet over his head. I bit my lip to stop from smiling. I had to hand it to him, as frustrating as he is, he's pretty funny.

Holding onto his shoulders I draped my leg over the back and sat behind him. I placed my hands awkwardly on his sides and he chuckled before gently grasping them and pulling them across so I was hugging his waist.

"Don't want you falling off now, do we?" He said, looking over his shoulder. I marvelled at the feeling of his toned and strong stomach, I could feel each and every ab under my splayed fingers and I rested my face against his leather jacket deeply inhaling his scent. He revved the bike before taking off out of the garage. I hugged him tighter and his chuckle ripple through his chest and through my body.

I could see why he loved riding this, the wind felt great even though cold against my jean covered knees and on my bare arms. When we pulled up to a red light about half way to the campus he tilted his head back a little.

"How are we going there, sweetheart?" He yelled slightly over the roar of the engine.

"This is terrifyingly fun!" I called back and he laughed, throwing his head back slightly. I joined in before he took off again when the light turned green.

When we made it to campus, I climbed off the back and took off the helmet shaking my hair back.

"Thanks for the ride." I said slightly breathless.

"No worries. Hey, do-" he was cut off by someone whistling and we both looked up to see none other than Cameron, beaming at us as he jogged over.

"Ash! Lookin' good babe." He said, a stupid smile on his face. In a playful mood from the ride I reached up on my toes and kissed him on the cheek.

"You know it Cam." I said walking away adding an extra sway to hips knowing they would both watching and winking at him. What was with me? One ride with the bad boy and I'm now okay flirting with the bad boys best friend!

"I'll fix your car for you tomorrow," Mason called after me.

When I got up the stairs I was pulled to the side by Mel.

"Did you just get off a certain bad boy's motorbike!?" She asked, her voice gradually going up in octaves to a sound that only dogs could hear.

"Yes, I did. No, there is nothing going on between us. No, there is no chance of us getting together and yes, he just gave me a ride to school after my car died." I went over her questions that were most likely already sitting in her mind.

She continued walking with a pout on her face her arm in mine. When we got to English Lit we managed to grab two seats together roughly in the middle of the class between two boys.

The kid on my left was quiet and didn't really do much other than write down word for word what the teacher was saying and the other guy, well, there was a weird stench in the room and I dare say that it was in fact him.

Waling out of class with our new essay assignment, I made sure  to watch where I was going this time.

"Do you want to come back to mine to study?" I asked as we walking towards the parking lot.

"Oh, actually, I already have plans." She said, trailing off and looking anywhere but my face.

"Mel? Plans with whom?" She was still looking around awkwardly and she muttered something that I couldn't understand.

"I have no idea what you just said."

"Cameron. I have a date with Cameron." She smiled a beaming white toothy grin at me and I had no idea what to say.

"Cameron? As in Mason and Cameron, Cameron?" I asked, surely she wasn't going out with Cameron.

"Yes, do you wan me to skywrite it?"

"No I'm good thanks. Well then, how am I meant to get home?" I whined as she jogged off to her car, smiling at me as she went.

"I don't know, just wait around for Mason I guess!" She called as she drove off.

I couldn't believe she was going out with Cameron, I didn't even know that they liked each other, unless Cam was just playing her. Sure, Mel was more outgoing than I am but she still liked to have a boyfriend rather than a player.

I pulled my diary out of my bag and checked Mason's timetable, he only had one lecture today which finished at the same time as my class, so where was he?

I walked to his bike and stood there for a bit looking around for him and it was a good 15 minutes before he turned up.

"There you are, where were you?" I asked as he walked quickly towards me, a scowl on his face and he handed me the helmet roughly.

"Okay." I said when he didn't reply, and just got on the bike behind him, following suit with what I did this morning.

When I placed my arms around his shoulders to steady myself as I draped my leg over, I noticed that he was super tense. The bike roared to life and before we took off I sat up a little straighter and spoke to him.

"Mason, are you okay?" I said quietly and tentatively, I'd seen him annoyed but I'd never seen him angry and bothered like this. He nodded one sharp nod and I sighed, wrapping my arms around his torso.

When I did this, I noticed his body seemed to relax slightly and his breathing slowed considerably.

He patted my cupped hands before revving the engine one more time and driving out of the car park.
