As a kid I believed in the red string of fate and loved all the theories about it. As time passed I started to forget about it until recently I was reminded of it because there was this girl I met while traveling through towns to find herbs and to settle down to open a little medicine shop. As soon as I laid my eyes on her there was a quick moment as if there were actual butterflies flying around in my stomach. I still clearly remember that feeling as if it happened yesterday. I couldn't take my eyes off of her, I started to notice all the little things she would do for the townsfolk like how she takes care of the younger ones and shows such warmth and kindness for them. She would go into the forest and find some flowers to bring back for everyone and If there was a chance to help out she would always offer her help with no thoughts. I always loved that about her.

I could tell all the townsfolk adored her and so did I. Someone like her can be described as truly beautiful on the inside and even the outside. I would always stare at her long fluffy brown hair and her eyes that were emerald green. Sometimes she would catch me glancing at her and would smile at me, it would never fail to make me so happy. I would always make sure to smile back even though I got so nervous. I would catch myself imagining a future together where we both are happy and live a peaceful life together in my little herbs shop.

Soon after that I learned her name and it suits her quite well, the meaning of her name truly represents her in every aspect. Her name was Delilah, meaning delicate and beautiful. I noticed I was getting low on my basil herb so I decided to travel to the forest to pick on some extras but as I was strolling through the forest I spotted Delilah and noticed she was staring at something that looked to be an injured bird. At first glance I was contemplating if I should go ask her what happened but as soon I noticed there was blood on the florest dirt, I rushed over and blurted out "are you okay?"
"I was on my way to find flowers and noticed this bird was injured" she said softly. I reply with "I can help, I have some herbal medicine and some bandages back at my place that would work" I glance at the bird's wounded area, I take out the basket that I was gonna use for my herb expedition and use the basket to put the bird in. It started to jump around and tried to fly away but couldn't get out of the basket, it was too wounded to even make it out let alone to get far away from us. "Poor thing" Delilah says as she starts to pick up the pace with her walk. I grab the basket off the ground and start to lead the way to my house in the town.
"I don't think you've ever told me your name, what was it?" She blurts out as she tilts her head staring me down. "Oh, my name is Theo" I mumbled a bit at the end but just enough so she could hear me. "Ah, that's a really great name!" She laughs a bit after she finishes her sentence. I didn't know what to say so I just looked at her and gave her a smile to seem like I was calm and cool but deep down I was freaking out. As I snapped back to reality I realized we were finally at the town.

Some of the children rushed over to Delilah since she had some blood on her. "What happened Delilah?" one of the kids yelled out as they were running to her. Now there was a crowd of people. I noticed Delilah made a little hand gesture for me to go on ahead so I did. Once I got back to my place I grabbed my herbs and some bowls and started mixing some things up. I picked up the basket and placed it next to me and applied the mixed herbs on the wound. It took a couple tries because the bird was struggling even more than before. As soon as I finished up with the bird it fell asleep, probably because it was tired and scared. After that I put the basil herbs I collected where the others are but before I can finish placing all of them I get a knock on my door.

I gently turn the doorknob and peek out the crack and notice Delilah smiling and waving. "Hey is the bird doing okay?" she says with a calm voice yet has some worry in it. "Yes I treated the wounds, it's now sleeping soundly in the basket" I spoke out as gesturing for her to come inside. She sat down beside the basket and was looking at the bird while glancing around my house. I'm too nervous to say anything so I sit in silence. I could feel the tension getting to us.
"I'm glad it's doing okay. I don't think I have thanked you yet, so thank you." I was confused why she was saying thank you and without thinking I blurted out "I don't think I did anything for you to be thanking me?" I sat down across from her.
"Oh theo. You helped out the bird with no hesitation. I was just watching it, I didn't even know what to do." She speaks with a sad tone. It makes me frown while trying to comfort her. I say "I didn't even notice it until I saw you standing near it and it's because you were there that I was able to help." She shoots up and speaks out "you're right theo we helped the bird together and with saying that, what should we name the bird?" "I'm not too sure, what are you thinking?" "Well I was thinking about Raven, it suits her quite well" she says with such a warmth tone. Without thinking I say "alright then." as she starts to walk to the door she says softly "I should take my leave now, I leave Raven in your hands. Take care now." she smiles and my heart skips a beat as soon as she leaves. I think to myself about what just happened while packing up the rest of the basil. I notice it's getting late and decide to head to bed before it gets any later.
