"Oi, Harry, want to get a few pints with us?" Dean Thomas called to his boss with his husband, and coworker, Seamus by his side. They knew it was a long shot to get Harry to come but they tried nevertheless.

"Nah, I've got to get home," Harry quickly replied as he gathered his belongings. The wizard only had one thought on his mind: going home and seeing his wife and son. It never got any easier for him to be apart from them.

"Oh come on mate, you never spend any time after work with us. Plus Neville and Ron are going to be there," Seamus now said.

"Yeah, don't you get tired of going straight home after work?" Dean added.

Harry turned to the couple and shot them a lopsided grin. "Never," he firmly asserted. While it would have been nice to see Neville and Ron, it would not be nearly as nice as getting home and cuddling up with his family.

"Well, just tell Hermione and Teddy we said Hi," Seamus told Harry with a grin. It was clear him and Dean had given up on their proposition.

"I will," Harry said with his own grin before leaving his office to return home.

"I want what he has," Seamus wistfully called as the sight of Harry Potter almost jogging down the hallways caused his eyes to water.

Hermione was in the kitchen when she heard the door open. The witch smiled to herself as she knew that, in a moment, her husband would come up and hug her from behind before kissing on her cheek. It was routine, it was their routine.

"Smell's good, love," Harry remarked before circling his arms around his wife's waist and planting his lips on her cheeks. Her sigh of contentment warmed his heart as he breathed in her scent, feeling immediately comforted by it. "Mmm, I missed you,"

"I missed you too," Hermione replied as she turned around to wrap her arms around his neck and leaned up to softly kiss him.

"I'm guessing Ted's down for his nap," Harry observed once the kiss ended. At Hermione's nod, he reluctantly let go of her waist before departing for the bathroom. He would wash himself up before Teddy woke and spend some quality time with Hermione.

He padded up to Teddy's room and softly cracked the door open to find his son sleeping soundly on his small bed. A bright smile adorned his face at the sight before he turned to the bathroom.

Ten minutes later, Harry emerged from the bathroom and dressed himself in some track pants and a t-shirt before almost racing back down to the kitchen to find Hermione. He somehow hadn't noticed it when he came home, but she was wearing his quidditch jersey.

The wizards stepped into the kitchen and spotted his wife donning his jersey that read 'Potter' on the back with the number seven emblazoned in gold. "You know, I'm beginning to think I have a family of thieves," he stepped forward and once again embraced his wife from behind, "first Teddy steals my work boots," he nuzzled into her neck, "now you steal my jersey."

Hermione moaned as Harry nuzzled into her neck but promptly turned around and pushed him away gently. If she allowed him to continue, then things would go elsewhere in a flash. "Later," she suggestively promised as she sultrily batted her eyes at him.

Harry smirked at her before scooping her up into his arms, laughing as she squealed, before leaning up to kiss her for the second time that afternoon.

"I love you," he whispered as the kiss broke.

"I love you too," Hermione breathlessly replied.

"I'm going to get you," Harry growled as he crept on all fours to chase his son around the living room. He was playing the part of a troll and he was going a darn good job of it, if he could say so himself. The squealing laughter of Teddy as he ran as fast as his little legs could take him was proof of that.

"Mama, mama," Teddy ran to his mother, his laughter ringing throughout the house, "dada troll." The toddler giggled at his father when his mother picked him up into her arms.

"What an ugly troll," Hermione joked to her son before turning up her nose in fake disgust at the crouching Harry.

"Oh you're going to pay for that," Harry lowly told her before setting off toward her and watching as she tried to escape with Teddy in her arms. Their joyful laughter was music to his ears and he couldn't stop smiling even as he chased after them.

Soon after, Harry cornered them at the kitchen and rose to his full length. He predatorily stalked over to them and quickly wrapped them both into his arms, growling as he did so.

Hermione's and Teddy's musical laughter rang through his ears before they both became tired and slumped against him. He dropped a series of kisses on the top of their heads before embracing them fully.

"Dada luff," Teddy told his father with a toothy grin.

"Dada loves you too, Teddy-o," Harry replied without missing a beat before noticing the serene smile and tears of joy on Hermione's face. "And dada loves mama too," he added as he kissed Hermione's cheeks and wiped away her tears.

"MAMA LUFF," Teddy shouted in response as he waved his tiny arms wildly, his toothy grin evolving into a giggle.

"Oh Teddy," Hermione planted kisses on every part of her giggling son's face, "Mama loves you too."

Harry watched his family as his own tears welled up in his eyes. Two years ago, the thought of something like this seemed like nothing more than a fantasy to him. Yet, here he was in his own house with a family of his own. He had a beautiful wife and a wonderful son. Despite all the pain and suffering that he was forced to endure for the first seventeen years, his life had turned out well. He was happy.
