"Don't need another perfect lie"

Start from the beginning

"I don't know, some of you might like it." You speak up, solely focusing on your breakfast. "I know this cartoon is pretty gory. The superhero is like some type of evil Superman, he's all narcissistic and shit, and he just sees humans as little pets he could do whatever with." You gave the boys a shrug. Some of them perked up at your description, while Pyro seemed disappointed. You give them an apologetic look.

"Aww, SWEEET!" Scout fist pumps in the air, setting the remote down as he eats his breakfast. "We are SO watching this!"

The vibe in the room was actually pretty nice. Like a family getting together to eat breakfast for the morning before going out to deal with the world's bull. You really weren't prepared for this, but it did ease your nerves. That being said, you were still nervous. Even with your well thought out explanation plan you were still very nervous.

Finally, after everyone had eaten you decided to do it. Pull the proverbial Band-Aid off as quickly as you could.

Confrontation. Being the messenger of somewhat troubling news that you weren't even sure was even true... Public speaking.

This was going to suck ass.

They watched you as you spoke, some nodding along to what you were saying and some not paying attention. You didn't know if they were even listening to you or not, let alone believing what you were saying. You stated your theory clearly and precisely. You were in a bit of a time crunch, so you spoke quickly. You wanted to get out of the house and get groceries before noon. Probably buy the mercenaries some cheap pajamas to hold them over before you're able to take them to a Goodwill or something...

No one was calling you crazy yet. You got strange looks from Scout and Spy, and somewhat of an analytical glair from Engineer and Medic. Soldier was off in his own world, trying his best to keep up with everyone else. And speaking of everyone else... You definitely weren't sure what they were thinking.

Your heart was hammering in your chest. You hoped you didn't look as nervous as you felt. Strangely, thankfully, you didn't sound nervous. You hoped you didn't anyway.

"I know it sounds insane, I really do, trust me when I say I know I sound crazy." You say, the tone in your voice trying to add a little bit of humor to a... VERY strange situation. "But I got evidence to show-"

"Dat we're actually from a game? Like one of those Atari games?" Scout asked. He looked interested now. In disbelief, sure, but maybe the thought of seeing himself in a video game was interesting to him.

You shrug. "Now, I definitely don't think you're actually from the game itself, I believe you guys came from a different dimension. That's the only thing I can think of that doesn't make me feel like I'm losing my goddamn mind, and I refuse to believe you guys actually popped out of existence from a video game." You say gesturing towards your laptop.

Indeed, some of them looked skeptical. You were feeling more nervous now. They were going to call you crazy, kill you and leave. You've fucked up good now.

"Aye..."

You look up as Demoman spoke. He had a thoughtful look on his face.

"Merasmus has... Well he has powerful magic. It's definitely not out of the realm of possibility for his magic to send us on some weird interdimensional trip or... Or whatever ya'd call this."

You looked at him wide-eyed. He believed you? One of them actually believed you! You let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Engineer nodded as Demo spoke. "That honestly would explain a lot. The technology here is so different. Advanced." Engineer turns to you with an apology. "You'll have to forgive us, Scout wanted to watch the TV last night and we got a first glimpse of how different the technology was. It showed a lot of commercials advertising really strange gadgets-"
