Done with her work, she was trebling, shivering and low on energy, healing takes a lot of effort and energy and takes a long time to recover. Sitting back quivering, panting heavily, looking at her brother she instantly felt better, he looked so peaceful like the wound on his chest wasn't there, meanwhile she was feeling his pain the pain he should be feeling if it wasn't for her blue eyed gift. But something was wrong, he was turning as pale as a ghost like the colour was draining out of him and his large black pupils in his eyes were getting smaller. He was dying. 'Wha, what are you doing? Don't leave me, Nick! Please, don't die' Shannon rushed to his side desperate to help, not sure what to do her shaky hands were just above the wound when Nicholas grabbed her wrist with a blood-stained hand and locked his sisters eyes with his. Both stared at each other for a moment before he whispered 'wolf form.' Bitting her lip and fighting the tears, Shannon knew what he wanted. He was born a wolf so he wants to die as a wolf.
Cupping his hand in hers, she donated him the energy she been storing for another runaway as he (slowly at first) morphed into wolf. Before his hands turned into paws, his hand went to his neck and fumbled at his necklace, he broke the string that held a charm and put it in her hand. Wide-eyed with shock she looked at her brother then to the charm and back to her brother, he really was dying. 'Promise me you'll keep me close to your heart like you are with Zack.' He said as he pointed to her chest where her necklace was where Shannons and Zacks charms were. Fighting the tears she shakily got her necklace untied it and slid Nicks charm on then tied it back up. Scooping her brother in her arms and brought him into a hug. The little Animal Morpher gave his sister a lick on the cheek and that was all it took, Shannon broke into river of tears, letting out sobs and sniffles and knowing he was dying just made things worse, she never knew when his last breath left his body. Night fell then the sun rose, only then did she wake while realising that she had slept the night hugging the dead body that use to be breathing, at least her right eye had healed enough to see out of. Wiping her saw, puffy, swollen red, dry blood stained eyes sniffed the air for any signs of humans; she instantly she caught a lungful of smoke making her cough at the sudden surprise of burnt air. After her coughing fit, Shannon looked up to see where it was coming from. She revealed in shock that it was completely surrounding her and to make things worst it wasn't just any fire, it was fire made by magic, the same sort of fire that killed her parents and bigger brother, the sort of fire she feared most. Panicking, panting she felt her heart beat faster and harder like it wanted to jump out of her chest and run away leaving her body behind. She finally snapped out of her trace when human voices made it to her ears. Giving the body a last hug, her wings stretched out and bleated the ground hard to get aloft. She didn't go far when an arrow caught her wing, screeching in pain she fell through the air. Thankfully the tree caught her in its branches just in a very awkward position leaving her in an up-side-down looking at her brother's body.
Struggling to get out of the tangled mess, a human walked out of the flame and made his way to Nicholas's laying body. He was dark and mysterious, and his face seemed to hide in his massive beard. Leaned over to investigate what his men had murdered, one hand reaching down to the dead body's head and pulled it up so he could see Nicholas's face, showing Nic's light green eyes with no pupils and no whiteness, completely green. The man suddenly whipped out his large blood-stained knife brought it to the throat and cut his head clean off. A scream of shock and horror escaped from Shannon's lips getting the dark man's attention, whipping his head around to her, seeing she was tangled mess of wings and branches and with a smirk he stomped his away over to her. That was when the branches gave way. Wounded wing or no, he was not doing that to her no way. Flapping as hard as she could, ignoring the pain, she flew up above the trees in the safety of the sky she continued climbing up the in the air, only then did she look down, and with hawk eyesight, she the headless body laying on the ground and saw the head was still in the man's hand as she flew away.
She woke with a scream, gasping and panting she caught her breath, heart racing as she looked around to see where she was, it was dark possibly a couple of hours away from sunrise. Her memory caught up with her and she leaned her back against the cool cave wall. After a second of recovery, she looked at Jazzmin, still warm in her wings she remembered what she said before they slept I wish I was like you. No, no you don't want to be me Jazzmin. She thought to herself and shaking her head. Never in a million years. Her dream was a dreadfully memory of her childhood. She was only 11 months old then.
