Mackenzie's P.O.V.
I sat there tensely, awaiting for my award category. My heart was thudding in my chest as I sat there. Suspense. It filled every inch of my soul. I stared over at Kalani - she looked confident. I stared glumly down at the ground, not wanting to catch Abby's eye.
"3rd place in the Jr category goes too... Katie from studio Bleu!!! 2nd place goes too... Kalani from The ALDC!!! And first place goes too..." The announcer announces, "Goes to Mackenzie from the ALDC!!!"
I rushed up, feeling confused. I came first... with my improv solo... WOW!!! I accepted my award and hugged Kalani. I smiled brightly at Abby, who stared at me, her face shocked. Hahaha how do you like them apples Abby!!!
I smiled as I emerged into our guest room and all of the Moms hug me. Abby glares at me and rolls her eyes as I hold up my trophy triumphantly. I might not be Maddie, but at least I was successful.
I sat quietly and tuned into my social media on the bus ride back to the hotel. All of the comments are so kind and they made me smile, they made my heart sing with joy. Abby glared at me, her snake eyes narrowed and she began to rapidly type something on her phone. 3 minutes later my phone dinged. I checked the message, expecting it to be from Abby.
I looked at the message... It was from Maddie's boyfriend Geno... I stared over at Abby, wondering if she had set this up... Her face remained neutral. I hesitantly checked the message.
