Dimitri and Maria had been together for a few years, and they had been through a lot together every since 4th grade. They had both been busy with work lately, and they hadn't had much time to spend together. Dimitri decided that he wanted to do something special for Maria, to show her how much he cared about her.
One day, he surprised her by showing up at her office with a bouquet of flowers and a duck stuffie. He told her to take the rest of the day off, and he took her to a beautiful park that was a few hours away from the city. They spent the day walking through the park, holding hands, with the duck and enjoying each other's company.
As the sun began to set, Dimitri led Maria to a secluded spot in the park. He had brought a picnic basket with him, and he had packed all of Maria's favorite foods. They sat down together and watched the sunset, sipping caprisuns and eating delicious food.
After dinner, Dimitri took Maria by the hand and led her to a small pond with duckies in it that was nearby. He had set up a candlelit path that led to the edge of the pond, where he had set up a small table with two chairs. They sat down together, and Dimitri poured them each a glass of a kitty cocktail.
As they sat there, looking out at the pond, Dimitri began to tell Maria how much she meant to him. He told her that he loved her more than anything in the world, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Maria could feel her heart racing as Dimitri spoke, and she knew that she felt the same way.
Finally, Dimitri got down on one knee and pulled out a small box. "Maria," he said, "I love you more than anything in this world. Will you marry me?"
Maria was overjoyed. She said yes, and Dimitri slipped a beautiful diamond ring onto her finger. They embraced each other, knowing that they had just made a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together.
As they walked back to the car with ducks falling there path, hand in hand, Dimitri knew that he had just created a memory that they would both cherish forever. He was so grateful to have Maria in his life, and he knew that he would do anything to make her happy.
