🌘Chapter 12🌒

Start from the beginning

"I see that look," Swordmaster chuckled at the two titans, who cowered away. "Don't worry, Void Reaver and I will help you soon enough. Just don't break them," Swordmaster instructed as he leaned back on Void Reaver.

Void Reaver's sword had been changed drastically. It had ridges meant for cutting into flesh. Swordmaster couldn't help himself and carved a little heart, which Void Reaver took instant notice of.

Frost Spirit and Nuclear King looked at each other in doubt before wandering away. Looks like they were going to be struggling the most with their new upgrades.

The void titans watched them leave. They were the only ones left in the hanger. Perfect, that was exactly what they wanted. They had something to discuss in private.

Swordmaster hid it on purpose, he didn't want the others to see, especially Molten. Swordmaster unwrapped the cloth and showed the secret item to Void Reaver, who studied it a bit. He looked over at Swordmaster for permission.

With the nod of approval, Void Reaver carefully picked it up. "Are you sure? They seem a bit small," Void Reaver gave Swordmaster an unsure look. "I thought the same thing too, but it was just what came to mind. Remember when you called me stupid for making a shovel?" Swordmaster asked with a bit of an attitude.

He did have a point. Void Reaver wrapped them back up, "I shouldn't doubt you." Swordmaster growled, "Yeah. You shouldn't."

Void Reaver chuckled, "Okay, now you should rest. Commander knows not to disturb you for a while." Swordmaster huffed and leaned against him, "I'll get some actual rest after all of this is over."

Swordmaster closed his eyes and tried his best to drift off. Void Reaver looked down and gave a worried look. Swordmaster was never scared or worried about anything.

Now that they had an actual threat attempting to murder or enslave them all, it must be stressing. Swordmaster tried his best to show that he didn't care, but he did. Especially after raising a tower as if he were his own.

That was all being threatened. Void Reaver huffed as he looked away and outside. It was still nice and sunny out. He began to wonder when the storm would begin to make lighting.

"Mistress!" a zombie wearing medieval armor ran inside the throne room. The windows were covered out with thick, purple curtains. It blocked any light from coming in.

The fires were also dim, making it hard to see a figure in the room. There was even an elegant chandelier up above, but it didn't sparkle. It dangled there, bland.

At the end of the room was the throne itself, but it was a bit blacked out with more curtains. However, these were more flowy and translucent. It still shadowed the giant figure that was sitting inside of it.

On either side of the throne was a powerful servant. A Solar Servant and a Lunar Servant, both there to serve their mistress sitting behind them.

The pike, the one that had just ran in, hurried across the room and then stopped at a reasonable distance. He dropped to the floor and bowed as it was the honorable thing to do. He also knew that if he didn't do it, he would surely be killed.

"Stand. Tell me your news, my spy," a powerful woman's voice commanded him from on the hidden throne. The pike stood up and began to confess all that he had seen today.

"The titan, Swordmaster, has returned! He has brought new weapons for the others, each one much more powerful than their previous," he told. There was an angry growl from the shadows. She was clearly upset with that information. "Anything else?" she asked.

The pike was a bit nervous. It was bad when the mistress got upset, that usually meant a low ranking minion, like himself, was going to get killed.

"Both the towers and titans are planning their assault against us. It seems they will be heading to take care of Jaxe," he gave his news. The titan from the shadows snorted, but quickly pulled herself together, "Not like he was much use to me. However, an attack against me is not good."

"If that is all, you are no longer needed," she declared. The pike sighed and bowed. He turned to leave, but was stopped. "When I said that you were no longer needed, I meant it," her voice turned cold.

The snapping of fingers had the pike wincing. He knew the sound of her magic all too well. Looking behind him in horror, a tall cursed knight loomed over him. The cursed units were the stuff from nightmares. Nothing stopped them.

The pike tried to flee, but he was easily caught. He was dragged out of their screaming. The mistress never liked a mess in her throne room. That was what the dungeon was for.

"Penumbras, darling. Come here," her voice turned sweet, almost as if she was coxxing a kitten. From the shadows beside her, a pair of three eyes leaned down to her, along with the gentle glow of purple.

The glow illuminated her body somewhat. There wasn't enough to completely showcase her. "Yes, mistress?" Penumbras responded to her call.

"The titans of this planet are quite dumb, don't you think?" she asked. "I wouldn't say that, mistress. They seem to be... misguided. Tampered with," Penumbras responded.

She looked up at him, "What makes you say that?" Penumbras slowly blinked, "They have not a clue what a strong and powerful leader is! Instead of simply killing these titans, why not teach them like how a mother would?"

It was silent for a moment as she thought. What would a mother do in this situation of unruly titans? Penumbras leaned down and whispered in her ears, "It is simple. You beat some sense into them."

There was no stopping that grin from coming to her face. She looked over at Penumbras and gave his chin a little tap, "Absolutely perfect! Glorious even! I have picked wisely when it came to choosing a head knight!"

Penumbras purred and stood up straight, "Anything for you, my Umbra."
