Cedric Diggory was raised, thinking that werewolves were murderous creatures who would kill anyone who stood in their way. That they didn't care about anyone but themselves. He never thought that they would've had families or friends. That is until he met a werewolf named Harry Potter when he was only ten years old.

His cousin, Jerome, was visiting from Scotland. He was ten years older than Cedric and was training to be a werewolf/vampire hunter. He learned how to use knives, daggers, and guns at only sixteen. He tried showing Cedric how to use a gun and nearly shot him in the head, twice. Both times Cedric flinched, but the second time he ran into the woods just outside their house.

Before he knew it, he was lost. He didn't know where he was, or why he ran into the woods. What if he never returned home? What if he had to survive in the woods? What if he ran into a werewolf? What if he was bitten by one? What if—

"Are you okay?" Asked someone who he had never met. "Are you lost?" He popped his head out of behind a tree that was a few feet away from Cedric. The boy had messy, jet-black hair; sparkly, emerald-green eyes; and he wore a baggy, ragged, T-shirt and sweatpants. He looked—and sounded— a few years younger than him.

     "Y-yes," He said. "I-I'm lost..."

"Oh, well...I know this whole forest by heart. Do you need help getting around?" Cedric nodded. The boy stepped out from behind the tree and walked over to him. His hair was so messy, that Cedric hadn't noticed his fuzzy ears and long, furry tail.

     "Ah! Werewolf!" He yelled.

"Oh..." The boy backed up. "Sorry, I-I didn't mean t-to startle you..." He backed up behind the tree again. "I-I-I'll leave...if you want..."

"No! Wait! Please, don't leave! I'm sorry," Cedric called out.

But it was too late. The werewolf boy had already gone. "Don't leave me..."

It was the next morning when Cedric woke up from a nap he didn't realize he took.

"Cedric! Gosh, what happened!?" His father, Amos, said.

"Wh-what do you mean?" He looked at his arms and legs and saw that they were covered in cuts, bruises, and blood.

"Oh... I don't...know...what happened... I must've...been knocked out," He trailed off as he saw a pair of emerald-green eyes looking at him, from a few feet away. He blinked and they disappeared.

Was the werewolf boy real? Or was he just seeing things? Or was it just part of his imagination?

Even if it was real, he didn't want to see the wolf-boy again. He didn't think he could face the embarrassment of having to apologize for being rude. He felt bad for not even asking for his name or age. The Universe had sent him a chance to make a friend and he just threw it all away.

But then he blinked again and saw the green eyes again. The wolf-boy was wearing a hooded cloak, and his eyes were watery, and clearly said, "I'm sorry."

Cedric understood that he wanted to apologize, but was afraid of being hunted by the humans around him. What Cedric didn't understand, was what and why he was apologizing. He figured it had something to do with the scratches, bruises, and cuts. He had a feeling that he didn't want to find out.

He went to his home and put on his cloak before going back out and looking for the kind human. He returned, only to see that the human had fallen asleep. He sat nearby, in case any vampires or werewolves tried to attack him.

"Protecting humans now, are we Potter? Instead of attacking them, you decide to be their bodyguards?"

"Leave me alone, Dudley. That was two months ago,"

"Two months ago, you tried to harass me!"

     "It's not my fault you're a bully!"

     "Who is that?"

     "He's..."

     "How did you meet him?"

     "He's lost!"

"Mhmm, sure. Whatever you say, Potter..."

They sat in awkward silence as they watched leaves fall and the sky turns dark. "It's a full moon!" Dudley said to himself. He ran back to the Dursleys' house just before he transformed and nearly killed himself trying to protect Cedric from the aggressive werewolves.

When he returned to the Dursleys' house in the morning, they were all too busy worrying about Dudley to pay attention to Harry coming into the house. When he flopped on the bed of his room (which was just a big cupboard with a rug and a towel as the bed), he thought to himself, it was worth it. He would gladly sacrifice his life to save someone else's.
