I yawned and ran a hand through my hair. it was a standard day at school. We had a bit of free time to chat though so that's what everyone else was doing. Chloe was on her phone. I pulled out my compact and checked my face. I was messing around with eye shadow this morning. I preferred the darker colors for my eyes.
"Wow Lila that's amazing!"
I immediately shut my compact and placed it back into my bag. I could see from the corner of my eye most of the class surrounding Lila's seat. it was if they were some sort of paparazzi or something. Marinette just watched and rolled her eyes, girl same. Adrien was.... somewhere but not in here..... Lucky
"How are you feeling Lila?" Rose asked.
"I really appreciate all your help, y'know, with my ear infection and all" Lila suddenly looked sad "You're all so kind... I really don't deserve friends like you all" she then put on the water works.
"Don't say that"
"You're awesome Lila"
I could feel myself gag. Her presence alone makes me want to vomit. Why does she need to lie all the time? people would like you a lot more if you're honest ya know. she's like a puzzle that I don't really care to unravel. Lila then went on about her lavish life and her imaginary escapades with celebrities. Marinette has debunked most of her lies and yet.... they still flock to her like hungry seagulls. I sighed. I'd call her out but it doesn't really involve me, ain't my business. They wanna be dumb, let em be dumb. Chole then scoffed out of the blue kinda startling me a bit.
"You're seriously gonna listen to this garbage?" Chole stood from her seat as the class turned their attention to her.
"Don't listen to her Lila" I heard Alya say.
"Yeah It's just classic Chloe"
Lila then tried to diffuse the situation, key word: tried. She put on her nicest smile.
"No, no it's okay" she looked at Chloe who just glared at her.
"It's okay, Chloe I know you're mad at me because you're jealous because all the attention I'm getting. it must be so hard having no friends" Lila wiped a fake ass tear from her eye "but it's okay, Chloe I'm not mad. you're my friend"
"Wow Lila, you're so brave!"
"You're such a good person Lila"
Chloe just stood there slack jawed. she quickly recovered and stomped her foot.
"Ridiculous, Utterly Ridiculous!" Chloe shouted as she left the class in a huff.
Everyone just rolled their eyes and turned back to Lila in awe. I don't know what it was, either watching a good friend leave upset or the fact Lila just dissed my friend and she's a nice person!? oh. heck no!..... Now I've had it. I slowly rose from my seat and turned to Lila and her lackeys. I tried to be nice at first. I like to give people a chance, look at Chloe.
"Umm... Lila don't you think that was a bit rude or harsh?" I said calmly.
"What do you mean? I just told her the truth. I'd never want to hurt Chloe, she just seems so lonely... it's kinda sad" Lila frowned.
"Then why'd you call her all those things? also, you've never really stuck up for her either actually"
"Chloe's one of my best friends, I just had to tell her the truth, she's hurting"
"Are you sure? You've never cared about her before, so why now?" I asked.
Lila gasped.
"Are you saying I'm a horrible friend?...."
"I mean, you've never really spoken to her nor do you ever hangout with her like, not even once so the best friend thing is kinda pushing it don't you think?" I said nicely.
Lila soon broke into tears, crocodile tears. everyone soon glared at me with malice. I just shrugged.
"Also how's that ear infection? never really heard you bring it up at all till now" I tilted my head.
"That's enough! Why are you being so mean to Lila!? she's never done anything to you!" Alya cried as she held a sobbing Lila.
"We should've expected this, especially from a friend of Chloe's" Alix sneered.
I felt my eye twitch. so it's okay for Lila to 'Chloe's best friend' but not me? Alright imma let em have it.
"Is it just me... or are all of you just really... realllllly stupid?" I said, placing my hands on my hips.
"What?"
"Seriously, how are we all in the same classes? Like, it's kinda embarrassing"
Really though. it's almost laughable. they'd believe a liar but constantly deflecting the true.
"The girl's a liar, a bad one at that" I clarified.
Lila stopped her pity party and looked at me. I could tell from the look in her eyes. her sweet facade was slipping.
"W-why would you say that?" Rose said.
"Anybody ever notice how all her illnesses seem to suddenly pop up when she needs to avoid something or someone? ear infection, sprang wrist?! not one freaking doctors note either. She's playing you all!" I exclaimed, flailing my arms about.
Lila put on her sincere smile. what crap is she gonna spew from her mouth now?
'Ah shit, the heck does she have to say now' I thought.
"Cecilia, I know you're going through some things right now and I totally feel your pain, feeling like you're not enough isn't easy so it's okay to lash out... I can take it if it'll make you feel better" Lila smiled.
ummm....no. I'm not an open book. don't be reading me like one honey, I'm not elementary school level.
"That's so sweet Lila-"
I cut them off before they inflated that rats ego once more.
"Ummm, no that's not how this works" I said calmly "1. I'm doing great in life. 2. we're not alike, at all and 3. You're all stupid and I might just pull my hair out from all this stupidity. I wanna go home..." I stated.
Everyone looked shocked. Rose looked as if she was about to cry, which did make me feel a bit sad but not enough to stop.
"Not cool dude"
"Looks like Chloe has rubbed off on you"
"What would you expect from a Friend of Chloe's"
"What's next? she gonna call her Aunt on us"
"You don't even know Lila, you shouldn't judge people before you get to know them"
I could feel my face getting red. that's was it.... I'm finna snap.
"Oh you mean how you all judged me on My first day?!" I pointed a finger at all of them. "Or how it's okay for Lila or Adrien to be friends with Chloe....BUT I GET JUDGEMENT BECAUSE I AM!? Or..or-" I chuckled "How all you Jerks DIDN'T ATTEND MY PARTY BECAUSE I WAS FRIENDS WITH CHLOE! then, you lie to me" I shrieked.
"But sure.... I'm the bad friend, I'm the Villain of this dumpster fire of a classroom sure, whatever"
After my outburst I took a deep breath and sighed.
"Why bother? honestly at this point... I really can't like you guys...I was so nice to you all, never mistreated once mind you..and this is what I get?" I said "Now I know how you feel Marinette....."
Her eyes widened as she made eye contact with me. I almost forgot she was here. poor girl. I grabbed my bag and walked to the exit but not before...
"Also you guys can easily stand up to me and call me out but not Chloe?" I laughed a bit
"guess you all just choose when to grow a spine huh.... please never speak to me again, don't even talk about me! y'all got some freaking nerve to talk about me behind my back but not to my face! ain't that stooping to Chloe's level...even I never did that"
I held the door open
"........well, except you Marinette, you can still talk to me and I forgive you for not coming to my party" and with that I left.
