𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄, 𝗆𝗂𝖺 𝗍𝗈𝗋𝖾𝗍𝗍𝗈¹

⁶¹ 𝙸𝚂𝙻𝙰 𝙶𝚁𝙰𝙲𝙴

"I look terrible right now!" Mia scolded

"Stop, you look beautiful." Oliver replied

"I'm sweaty and I just had a baby. I have to look disgusting." Mia said

"No, you've actually never looked more perfect." Oliver said

He kissed Mia on her forehead.

"Thanks." Mia said

Mia looked down trying to hide her blush. The nurse came in at that moment to take the baby to the nursery for a little while. Before she could though, she offered to take a picture of the three.

"You don't mind?" Mia asked

"Not at all. You have a beautiful little family." The nurse said

"Thank you." Mia said

"No problem. Okay squish in close together." The nurse said

Oliver put his arms around Mia and he sat on the bed, leaning forward so his head was right next to Mia's. The nurse snapped one picture and Mia handed the baby to Oliver so he could hold her in the second picture.

"I'll take her for now so you can get some rest before her next feeding." The nurse said

She took the baby girl from Mia's arms.

"Okay, thank you." Mia said

"It's no problem." The nurse replied

She left the room and Mia yawned.

"I'm so tired." Mia said

"Go ahead and rest baby, you've earned it." Oliver said

Mia smiled gratefully at her husband.

"Fine, just promise me that you'll take Zane and Jack down to the nursery when they get here." Mia said

"Are you sure?" Oliver asked

"I'm positive." Mia said

"Okay, you get some rest now." Oliver said

He pecked Mia's head and she dozed off.

Later, Oliver looked up from a sleeping Mia as he heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." Oliver called

The door opened, and Jack an over to Oliver. Behind Jack was Zane, Lola, and Brian.

"Daddy!" Jack exclaimed

Oliver caught Jack in his arms, picking him up to sit on his knee. 

"Shh, Jack. Mommy's sleeping." Oliver said

He nodded his head towards the bed.

"Sorry, Mommy." Jack whispered

Zane looked around the room.

"Where's the baby?" Zane asked

"She's in the nursery, wanna go see her?" Oliver asked

"Can Uncle Brian and Auntie Lola come too? They have been so excited." Jack said 

Oliver nodded.

"Of course they can." Oliver replied

"I think someone has been a little more excited than we have." Brian said

He and Lola laughed.

"We'll wait here with Mia and let you three go alone." Lola said

"Are you sure?" Oliver asked

"We're sure. You don't want the experience of your children meeting for the first time to be ruined with us there." Lola said

She smiled at her brother-in-law as he lead his sons to the nursery.

Once they were at the nursery, Oliver took his sons over to a little plastic bassinet that sat in the corner.

"Zane, Jack, meet your sister, Isla Grace O'Conner." Oliver said, proudly

Zane looked at his father in shock.

"Isla? Like my mom's name?" Zane asked

"Yeah, bud. We named her after your mom." Oliver said

Zane smiled and hugged his dad. Oliver went to sit on the chair next to the bassinet, while his sons looked at their new little sister. Jack placed his hands on the side and looked over the top at Isla.

"She's cute. Can I cuddle her?" Jack asked

"Not yet. Let's wait until Mommy wakes up, then you can cuddle her on the bed, okay?" Oliver said

Jack nodded in agreement as he placed Lightning McQueen into the bassinet at Isla's feet.

"Lightning, meet Issie." Jack introduced

Carefully, Zane ran his fingers over Isla's forehead smiling down on her as he did so. Oliver just watched his three children interacting for the first time staying quiet, not wanting to disturb the moment. He took out his phone and snapped a picture for Mia to see as he felt bad that she wasn't here to witness it, but she had told him before she fell asleep that he was to take Jack and Zane down as soon as they arrived to meet their little sister, knowing how excited they would be.

"Daddy, I already love her so much." Jack said

That was it for Oliver: his emotions got the better of him and the tears began to fall down his cheeks. Zane looked over when he heard Oliver sniffle.

"Dad, you're crying." Zane said, concerned

"I know I am, buddy." Oliver replied

Jack walked over to his father who picked him up, placing him on his lap.

"Why? Are you sad? You can cuddle Lightning if you are. He always stops me feeling sad." Jack said

"No, I'm not sad, Jack. I'm really happy. My little family is finally complete." Oliver answered

He smiled and grabbed both his sons into a hug.

"Because Isla is finally here?" Zane asked

"Yeah." Oliver agreed

He smiled and planted a kiss on the top of Jack's head.
