My story started when my mother suddenly decided we needed to move to Phoenix Drop. She had said that she wanted to be closer to her old friend. I had never wanted to move of course. It was all her. I didn't want to move because I had a nice life in O'kasis. The only downside was that I didn't have any friends. Well, I have two online friends, but I'll get to that later. I probably don't have any friends in real life because I had beaten the strongest werewolf at my all werewolf school in a fair fight, and everyone knows that I have the right to punch them because I am the lowest rank: the Omega. So yeah, I have it pretty good. But Mom thinks we need to move, and that is also why I'm sleeping on a yoga mat. My bed is in a truck traveling to Phoenix Drop right now, so I have no other option. Why not the couch you ask? Simple. My Mom is using it.
Oh, I should probably say a few things about myself, shouldn't I? My name is Eli. When most people see my name written down, they automatically think I'm a boy. But no, I'm actually a female werewolf.
My real name is Ellilora, but I prefer to be called Eli. When most people see my name on a piece of paper they think I'm a boy. I pronounce my name like Ellie, but spell it like Eli. My ears are a dark blue, so dark that if you didn't look closely, they would look black. My left ear has a silver loop in it, and my tail is also the same dark blue as my ears. I also have a tattoo on the back of my neck with the words 'Keep fighting.' As for my hair, it is a blackish color, although it is a little bit gray. In first grade I used to get teased a lot for it, and I usually covered my hair with a hoodie or something. My favorite color is blue, and my eyes are an amber color. As I mentioned earlier, I have two online friends. The one I'm closest to, would be FC. FC was the one I met first. Shu is my other friend. FC is a guy, and Shu is a girl. Every weekend, we play together and do dungeons.
Looking up at the painted ceiling, I thought about the two. We exchanged numbers, so we could talk outside of the game.
Man, this mat is uncomfortable. I should have tried a little harder when I fought with Mom over the couch.
If you're wondering about the painted ceiling, it is what it sounds like. I have my ceiling painted black, that way it would seem darker in the room. My walls were painted a dark blue, so it matched. The hard, dark wooden floor was not helping the mat be any more comfortable.
My thoughts drifted to what my new room would look like. Would the ceiling be a horrifying white color? Would the walls be painted a pink vomit shade? Would the floor be this uncomfortable?!
I sat up, not able to bear the pain in my backside anymore. My dark tail sprung up, and I realized I had been laying on it. That must have been why it was so uncomfortable. Through the window I could see the crescent shaped moon shining. A tiny bit of light came through the window, just enough that I could make out the two boxes next to the door of my room. Mom had taken my curtains down, saying she was going to put them up in my new room. I think she just wanted to be rid of them. I sighed, looking at the bare walls.
There was a little paint missing from where I had to rip the tape off. There was tons of dust where my desk used to be, and there were little sketches of wolves on the walls next to where my bed used to be. Laying back down, I made sure not to lay on my tail. After sixteen years of having a tail, you would think I know not to lay on it. I lay there, staring at nothing in particular, and after what felt like eternity, the world eventually faded out.

When I woke up the next morning, my phone was vibrating next to my mat, a 'Get up Eli!' was flashing across the screen. I dismissed it and sat up. The clock read 5:15. I set my alarm early because if I don't, I won't wake up. I do like to be up early, but I just can't do it without an alarm. Getting up early is nice because the darkness is nice and the silence makes me feel good. I cracked my door open and squeezed through. Quietly, I tiptoed downstairs. To get to the kitchen I had to go through the living room. As I walked through the living room, I carefully watched my mother sleeping on the couch. She was fast asleep, which worked in my favor. I hurried into the kitchen and rummaged through cupboards for a cereal box. After twenty empty cupboards, I finally found the one with the singular cereal box. I grabbed the box and set it on the empty counter. Then I started my search for a bowl. I was half tempted to just eat out of the box, but I decided not to. When I finally found a bowl, I dumped the dry cereal in.
