The longer I stared at the scene that was playing on front of me the more it felt like this wasn't just a dream but as soon as I spoke my thought out loud, the people started moving again and a rough push made me fall into the deep, dark water.
I fell and fell, it felt like it would never end. I couldn't breath, it felt like I was sinking and never getting up.
I slowly opened my eyes before shooting up, breathing heavily and anxiously looked around. I sat there for a few minutes to let everything sink in and let my breath slow down.
My siblings and parents were sleeping, to which I was grateful but since I was all stressed I decided to go and sit at the water.
The night had a beautiful full moon and stars shining at the dark coat of the sky. A few meters away from the sea I noticed a figure standing on the bridge and staring onto the water.
Their arms and tails were thin what led to the conclusion that the person was probably one of the sully's so I just walked up to them.
Shyly I started to speak "Neteyam?" It hit me, "Mei'lu?!" He sounded surprised and all nervous all of the sudden "can I stay here for a bit?" I asked to which he smiled "Sure".
We both sat down and I let my legs glide into the water, feeling the warmth. I tried to find something to break the silence but he did I for me
"What are you doing here? If you don't mind me asking" he spoke in a soft, sleepy voice which hypnotised my eyes to land on his. "I just had a dream... not a really good one and I just need to clear my head" I answered while letting out a sigh.
I looked up at him expecting him to say why he was there but since he didn't so I just asked "and what about you?" "Well... nothing I just needed to clear my head too" he smiled but since he looked like he wouldn't open up more I just let him.
The night was silent all I could hear was my heartbeat and the slow waves of the ocean. I stared Into water trying to find the right words to say when suddenly a Alou passed by my feet.
My eyes lit up at the sight of my favourite underwater animal. They were fascinating and beautiful creatures which had the cutest bonds known to me.
„These are Alou" I smiled down to the water while Neteyam bend forward from his laying position. „My grandma always told me as a child that each one has a individual pattern that matches one other Alou, meaning that they are soulmates. And when they find each other they are bound for life".
I looked over to Neteyam who had his eyes on me while I was talking with a smile laying on his lips. „When I die... I will come back as one of them" I whispered before reaching down to the Alou but before I could touch it, it swam away.
My smile slowly faded when Neteyam suddenly jumped into the ocean, getting water all over me. When his head popped back up he laughed „Come in!" giving me a welcoming gesture „Now!?" „Yea why not" he answered before pulling my hand, which led to me falling face down onto the sea.
My nostrils filled with water and I started coughing up while Neteyam was practically laying in the water, laughing at me. A smirk snuck onto my face while I dashed forward and tackled him deeper into the water.
I pushed him deeper and deeper when he suddenly flicked my body and started pulling me upwards. Adrenaline flooded my body which made me burst out into laughter and so did Neteyam.
The sun slowly started to rise so I quickly made my way to the bridge and pulled myself up but Neteyam stayed in the water. He leaned with his arms on the bridge and I kneeled down so I could better talk to him. „I need to go, I can't risk letting anybody see us" I explained but something held me back,
I couldn't stop staring into his deep, fascinating eyes when I noticed his gaze shifting onto my lips. His hand wandered up to my face and an it felt like an invisible force was pulling me towards his face.
I put my hands around his neck, only inches were between our lips when my ears shot up and turne in the opposite direction of him and I heard my brother yell „Mei'lu!".
Neteyams eyes widened before his head vanished into the water but the weight shift resulted in me making a flip into the water. I swam upwards and leaned myself onto the bridge while putting my right hand on Neteyams mouth, pressing him against the bridge.
„Mei'lu what are you doing there?" he questioned, obviously confused „I was just swimming a bit around, clearing my head" I tried to overplay the embarrassing fall into the water of me and to my luck he hadn't seen Neteyam.
„Are you alright?" he worriedly asked while pulling me out of the water but I was only concerned about him noticing Neteyam. „I'm fine Aonung, you just scared me" I answered.
„Let's go now" he suggested and so we did. I hoped that Neteyam was alright but I didn't have much time to think about that before I sunk into my much needed and restful sleep.
I sunk into my dream world...
I'm so sorry that it came so late but I had something personal going on which robbed me a lot of my time.
