Taking a deep breath of air, Neteyam resurfaces next to you. Suddenly, your spirit sister jumped out of the water, making both you and Neteyam turn their heads and watch the agile creature. The Tulkun gracefully jumps over the both of you, earning a big smile from Neteyam and a laugh of pure happiness from you.

As she dives back into the water, you jump off your Ilu and submerge under the water. You hastily scan the water for the familiar figure, and once you spot her, you swim up to her with a big smile.

"O'lyai, how I have missed you!" You sign as you place a hand to your heart.

"How are you?"

"I'm doing good, how about you?"

"Im fine as well,"

You smile as you swim closer to the creature and wrap your arms around her, attempting to give her a hug.

You pull away and admire her. O'lyai was very beautiful. She was a very smart and graceful creature. She had scars all over her skin, some old, some new. But with them, she was still alluring. The scars made her even more badass.

"You got some new scars I see," you lightly glanced your hand over a newly formed scar near her eye.

"I earned them. They show the battles I have been in."

You smile, "I wish my scars were as cool as yours." you sign, glancing at your own scars on your arms.

"Each person has their own battles. Each scar, whether big or small, proves that the person survived. You have to wear your scars very proudly."

Your smile grew wider, and you nodded as you looked back at her. You put your hand over your throat and tapped it lightly, signaling that you need to come up for air.

O'lyai made a happy chirp and swam to the surface with you.

"Neteyam!" You exclaim as soon as you come up, "Come meet my spirit sister!"

Neteyam slipped off his Ilu and climbed on the fin you were sitting on.

"Neteyam," you nod to him, "this is O'lyai, my spirit sister." You introduce the boy to the Tulkun as you gently rub your hand above her eye.

"O'lyai, this is my-" you pause for a second, looking down at the water, "friend, Neteyam."

Neteyam signs a 'hello' and nods his head.

"I taught him how to say and understand a few simple words, so he might not understand what you are saying O'lyai," you look over to Neteyam, "I will translate what you don't understand."

"Okay." Neteyam nods, "I've heard a lot about you." he says to the Tulkun.

"I hope good things, because my girl over here, can talk a lot and sometimes not about the best things." O'lyai eyes you as you smile into your hand.

Neteyam chuckles as you give him a look, 'That is not true'.

He rolls his eyes playfully and keeps a conversation going with your spirit sister, from time to time getting you to help him translate sentences. You also join their conversation and tell stories about how you meet Neteyam and other important events that happened over the time she was gone.

"Do you like him?" O'lyai asks as the conversation dies down.

"What?" You ask with a slight panic in your voice.

"It's the way you look at him."

"What is she saying?" Netyeam asks, confusion written over his face as he shares glances from you to the creature.

You look at Neteyam and open your mouth.

"Don't you lie to him! I know that look, you used to look at-"

You cut her off by slapping her fin you were sitting on. You look her in the eye and give her a warning look, 'don't even mention him'. She just makes a sound and dives into the ocean. You and Neteyam were both pulled off by the water force. Emerging from the water, Neteyam looks at you and then back at the Tulkun, that came up beside you.

"I see I am not needed in this conversation." he calls for his Ilu and gets on top of him.

"No, Netty-"

"It's okay. I'll give you two some time to talk. You need to catch up," he gently smiles down at you.

"It was nice meeting you, O'lyai ." Neteyam signs to the Tulkun.

"I'll see you later." Neteyam winks at you, and the Ilu dives down into the water.

You turn back to O'lyai and point to where Neteyam just was. You raise your brow bone and murmur a 'thanks'.

"So you do like him!"

"...what is there not to like?" You roll your eyes merrily as you climb back onto her fin.

"I kissed him too." you smile shyly.

"Stop it, you did not!"

You nod positively while giggling.

"I am proud of you."

You look up at her and bring your hand up and place it beside her eye.

"And I am so proud of you, O'lyai. I look up to you so much, you know?"

"Stop, you're making me blush!"

You wrap your arms around the creature again.

"Let's go for a swim." You smirk, and you lay your stomach on her fin, grabbing a hold of her fin.

"You are on, sister." That was the last thing spoken before the Tulkun dived into the water.

A/N, PLZ READ!

Mmkay, I wanted to add the celebration as well but 1) This chapter would be too long, 2) I wanted to post something for you guys and 3) While I was writing this chapter, I really wanted to focus on how Y/n feels and the atmosphere in general.

I really tried to write this chapter as detailed as I could to give you guys a chance to somehow understand/visualize the beauty of what she was experiencing. I really spilled my guts out lmao and I'm proud of what it turned out to be.

I would really appreciate you guys commenting down what you guys felt throughout this chapter and giving it a moment to really let those feelings sink in. DON'T BE A SILENT READER (no one likes those) You can go back and comment on the moments you might have felt more connected to, or moments you would like to experience, and really just comment down your feelings. But again, I ain't forcing you, this ain't school 💀 and you guys just do what you wanna do :))

I really hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I am telling yall- I feel like the next chapter is gonna be my fav.
