My mom was always selfish, but I never considered she'd be this selfish.

Seriously... making her kid go to school in a town where there's an active kidnapper in the shadows without a care?

Who am I kidding... she never cared. At least she made Gerard happy.

Gerard was my shitty soon-to-be stepdad who barged in my life barely a year after my Real dad died.

Everyone was happy when my real dad was alive. I was going to be a sister. Dad was so happy to have a son because I guess a daughter wasn't enough. But an accident happened where Dad and the unborn baby died.

Then a year later, this shitty fucknut guy with a recieding hairline barged in and swept my alcoholic mom off her feet.

"Y/n. Pack up your shit we're leaving." My mom stepped into my door frame, taking a long drag of her cigarette before blowing it at me.

"Why?" I asked, putting down the record case I was reading.

"Just do what I ask. We're moving tomorrow morning." She leaned out of my room, leaving me to sit in my thoughts.

Great...

I know my mom loves me, it's just been hard for her.

After along drive to out to our new house, moving all of the furniture and boxes in, and choosing our new rooms, I finally took a break.

I looked at my new room. It looked weirdly blank unlike my old room, which was decorated nicely.

"Gerard said he wanted you to have this. Ya' know, to explore the area."

I turned to my mom who was holding out a ten.

I grabbed my Walkman and backpack before snatching the ten. I held it up, admiring the green bill in the natural light.

"Thanks."  I strutted out of my new room to leave the house.

"Tell him yourself, brat." I ignored her and went to go look for my bike.

After finding it in the back, I went to go ride around.

Gerard stepped out of the house to smoke a cigarette while watching me.

I gave him a nasty look before peddling off to explore.

"fucker." I mumbled under my breath.

I knew it was my mom who gave me the money, not him.
