Hello! If you're familiar with my writing from The Son of Mystery, then this is something completely different, so allow me to explain:
Toradora is one of the most impactful shows from my childhood, I watched it when I was sixteen, and have subsequently watched it at Christmas every year since than, so, let me go into detail of what you should expect for this.
I know Toradora! Doesn't have a lot of mainstream attention these days, its been over fifteen years since the anime came out, and even longer since the light-novels, but my stories are passion projects of things that really mean a lot to me, so I'm not particularly bothered about reads and votes and such, I just want to get my edits out there for people who want to read them.
This story is a male insert, the main love interest is... Ami Kawashima, full stop. No harem, no Taiga endgame (she belongs with Ryuji, always and forever), and no last second switches.
That said... it's a slow burn. Like, really slow. The romance doesn't kick into gear right away. There's a lot of canon events, character development, awkward high-school drama, and Y/N figuring out his place in Japan before anything romantic starts happening with Ami. If you're here for instant fluff or confessions by chapter five, you'll be disappointed!
I'm staying mostly canon-compliant for the early arcs, but things will diverge more and more once the slow-burn romance begins. No character bashing, no lightning powers this time, just a guy trying to navigate his newly self chosen Japanese lifestyle.
Just a brief word of warning, Y/N and his father do NOT have a good relationship in this story, as you'll see in the first couple of chapters, and quite frankly it's sometimes tough to write how much of an ass he is to his son, so proceed with caution if you've got any daddy issues (I'm kidding, but please just be warned it's sometimes not nice to read).
If you stayed up to date with Son of Mystery as I was uploading it, you'll know my upload schedule is... not great, but stick with it and I should be able to promise it'll be worth it!
