Kalani's POV.

Harlem, NY-Ocean city, NJ.

"Girls come on!" My mom said shouting from the kitchen.

I was half sleep, ever since break I slept in.

"Bro malaya how are you so happy this early in the morning." I said as she was smiling at her phone.

"Jayy he's so cutteee" She said.

"I knew y'all had shit going on" I said.

"And do, that's my man forevaaa" she said.

"What about you and dd?" She asked me.

My heart sank, I hadn't thought about him in a little bit.

"Lemme guess things didn't go?" She said.

"Yea." I said lowly.

"Girls come on." My mom said nagging us.

We got into the car.

"So anyone gotta make a pit stop?" My mom asked.

"Snacks ma" malaya said.

"Oh yeah snacks" I agreed.

"K" she said as she drove to the gas station.

"Here" our dad said handing us both 20 dollars.

"Don't be too long" My mom said

We nodded our heads as we got out.

I remembered this store and how this was when me and dd met.

I hate what he did to me but I don't hate him.

I miss his staring problem.

I grabbed hot chips, gummies, a water and a slim jim.

"Will that be all?" the same grouchy lady from last time said.

I nodded my head putting the items on the counter.

"Malaya hurry up." I said waiting for her on the side of the line.

"Girl hush that ass" she said as she grabbed her bag walking out.

"What took so long" my mom asked.

Me and malaya pointed at eachother.

We started riding, eating snacks, falling asleep, and listening to music.
