Sleep Bug

"Another person!" The staff fell on MK's head, making Y/N stare at it. "Wait, one of Spider Queen's goons! Wait, why should I be asleep."

"Uh, because my 'Sleep Bug' game that sent the whole city to sleep."

"That was on purpose?!"

MK came up came up close to his face, making the spider demon push him away.

"Of course! Now, did I need to put the whole city to sleep just to incapacitate the two guardians here? Perhaps not." His spider legs disappeared as he came closer to MK poking his head. "In for a penny in for a pound, either way, you don't have the mental dexterity to de-bug my game, you're just a motherboard with a decent GPU, and no central processing unit." MK stared at him with a dot-eyed expression, clearly not understanding anything of what he just said.

"Uuuhhh.. GP whaaat?" Y/N stared at him as his face started shrinking, deadpanning.

"MK, I think he just called you stupid."

"Wait, what?!"

"At least someone has a working brain." Syntax pat Y/N's head, congratulating them. "Aren't you a smart one?" He chuckled before turning and walking away.

"Look, I don't know what you're talking about. Are we gonna fight or what?!"

"Mmm, no." Syntax turned his head to look at MK, smirking victoriously. "I'm a big fan of outsourcing." He fully turned around, as a red light shone brightly behind MK and Y/N. "While I'd love to hang out and chat, especially with the little butterfly, I have other things to attend to. And you're about to be eviscerated by the ancient Guardians of Knowledge. So, I guess we're both pretty busy. Okay, byeee!" He used his spider legs to fling himself into the air, away from MK and Y/N.

"Hey, get back here!" He gasped, and Y/N sweat dropped, as the two felt a presence behind them.

"Only those marked in the 'Great Letter of Knowledge and Time' should be deemed worthy to enter this temple of wisdom." Two voices both spoke together. Y/N turned around to see two tall figures, as they rose their weapons. "And live."

MK screamed as he dogged their attack, and grabbed Y/N, putting the child on his back as he ran away from the guardians. They proceeded to chase MK and Y/N through the long corridors of this strange place of knowledge, trying to attack the two. As MK and Y/N were tossed around, they stopped as the guardians blocked their path.

"You are not on the letter. You are not worthy." They raised their weapons in the air, preparing to strike down on the two.

"C'mon MK, you can do this. Self-confidence, that Monkey King 101." MK pep talked himself as Y/N curled up into a ball and hid their face, scared. He walked up in front of Y/N, as he pointed his staff in front of the guardians. "Wait, I am worthy! Definitely worthy! I'm Monkie Kid, basically the new Monkey King. Might of heard of me? You know, the next chapter? I'm totally worthy!" He finished, crossing his arms with a confident look on his face. The guardians didn't look convinced.

"Irrelevant, you are not on the letter, you are not worthy." They swung their weapons down on the two, as MK tried to shield Y/N with himself.

"Can we add our names to the letter." The weapons halted as they rested inches away from the two. "Uh, like, can we sign up? Is that a thing?" The weapons that were previously in front of their face pulled back as they rested on the guardian's side. "Of course!" "Knowledge if for everyone." The red one grabbed MK's head as he directed him to the sign-up area. "Let's get you both sorted out." MK held Y/N tightly as they were dragged towards the enrollment area.

As MK signed his name onto the screen, Y/N stared at their enrollment scroll in wonderment.

"There are books you can read here, right?" They asked.

"Of course, we've got lots of books, its-"

"Oh, the game!" MK ran off after the game, making Y/N sigh.

"Thanks for this, I'll be sure to come back and read some of the books!" Y/N said, going where MK went. They saw MK had defeated the game with the book, as he stood triumphantly.

"Aww, yeah! And they said being a nerd didn't have its advantages! Who's the GPU now?!"

"Even though me and Y/N were all alone, and we had been completely abandoned by everyone, I used my brain and we saved the whole city! We did great, and there were no negative consequences at all!" MK said, as Pigsy was covered in bandages with Tang fanning him and Mei holding his arm, glaring at MK. Pigsy grunted as MK finished his summary of the previous events. Y/N deadpanned at MK before sighing, he was so weird sometimes.
