Netty | Neteyam x reader

Chapter 6.

He nodded and started calling for his Ilu. Throughout the learning sessions with him, you found an Ilu for him to ride.

You saw his Ilu making its way to his voice. Once Neteyam saw it was close enough, he made his jump and dove into the water. You raise your brow bone by how fast he managed to catch along. After a moment you wait for him to resurface. Then another. 

"It's been a while since he was under there." You murmur to yourself as you try to spot his figure. "Let's go Aolé." You lightly tap your ilu and he quickly dives underwater. Opening your eyes and holding your breath, you search for the boy and his companion. 

But you can't find them.

You look around some more. 

What the hell? 

Swimming to the surface you call for the darker skinned Na'vi.

"Netty?"

No response.

"Netty, where are you?" you look down to the water.

"Neteya-" Aolé suddenly started making noises, rocking lightly from side to side.

"Aolé, what is it boy? What happ-" Before you can finish the sentence, you were pulled down into the water by your arm. Your queue was pulled from Aolé's, cutting the bond. Franticly you try to free yourself from the strong grip on your waist. You kick your legs to get out of the grip and pull at the hand holding your arm in a strong grip. In the spur of the moment you look back, ready to hit your intruder. 

You scoffed underwater with whatever air you have left in your lungs as the your arm is released from the grip and you are able to swim up to the surface. Breathing heavily you wait for him to resurface as well.

"Neteyam I will drown you!" you yell, your voice raspy as he resurfaced, gasping for air.

"Wow, that's all it took for you to call me by my name?" He started laughing.

"You're a skxawng." you hissed.

"Come on," he said as he stopped laughing  but still carried a smug look on his face. He swam closer to you, "Don't be mad."

You look away.

"How about I make it up for you?" he asked as he called his Ilu.

"And how are you going to do that?" you question, annoyance dancing in your voice. He pets his Ilu as he swings one leg over and adjusts himself on top of the creature.

"I'll give you a ride," he said.

"After that stunt? Find another woman." You start to paddle towards to dock.

"I don't need another woman." You hear him say. That sentence, his voice, makes you stop swimming for a second. After a second or two of treading the water, you focus back on swimming towards the dock.

Neteyam rolled his eyes, and commanded his Ilu to swim in front of you and block your way.

"Netty!" you whined, "I'm getting tierd here."

"Give me a chance," he pleaded, "I'll try my best not to drop you" he smirked.

Now it was your turn to roll your eyes. After a moment of silence you raise your hand up for him to grab.

He gladly did, and helped you onto his Ilu so that you were sitting behind him.

"Now keep your word skxawng. " You say as you wrap your arms around his torso, "Or Eywa help me-"

"Coming strong with the insults there," he put his hand to his chest, to mimic his heart hurting. You ligtly smack his hand over his chest and he chuckles. "And I said try my best not to drop you."
