katana was in the kitchen making herself an ice coffee while listening to loner by kali uchis when jah walked into the kitchen and came behind her before wrapping his arms around her waist, startling her 

"oh shit you scared me" she said making him laugh, "my bad ian mean to, but ma it's 1 in the morning why you making coffee?" he questioned and she shrugged

"don't know just felt like it" she replied as she held it up to him, poking his lip with the straw trying to indicate she wanted him to taste it and he took the hint as he leaned down and took a sip. "it's good, mad sweet but still good" he told her and she smiled

she tapped his arm and he took that as a sign to move so he did before she grabbed her coffee and sat on the counter behind him before picking up her phone and scrolling through her instagram feed

jah watched her, trying to read how she was feeling. she was quiet, which was new because kat was never quiet, like ever. so he was confused, maybe something was wrong and he just didn't know so he decided to ask her

"mama you good? you mad quiet" he asked her and she looked up and nodded "yea i'm good, i'm just chilling forreal. tryna calm down my brain you know?" she explained and he nodded understanding what she meant

"nah i get that completely, sometimes you just gotta reset" he said agreeing with her and she smiled "see you get it, besides i'm looking at some shit online. tryna decide if i want some damn moon boots or not" she joked and he chuckled "girl fuck you need moon boots for? it's hot as fuck down here" he taunted and she laughed "well duh it's hot as satan's balls here but it gets cold as snowmans ass in the dmv soooo" she retorted making them both laugh 

"i like when we like this just chilling, no arguments, no screaming matches, just us. i want it to be like this for us all the time, you just gotta trust me ight?" he said to her and she smiled softly "i trust you jah, i know my ass be tweaking out but one thing being alone at home has taught me to do was think. i mean think A LOT, and while i was thinking i realized i do trust you. yes i'm petrified of everything but i gotta get over that, just work with me is all i ask" she responded and he smiled before moving in between her legs and leaning down before kissing her
