^^love at first sight??^^

Start from the beginning

He stood up alongside me and we walked up the steps together before entering his room.

"Woah" I said, looking around as I walked in slowly.

"Cool room" I said, trying not to seem obsessive.

My eyes locked on the drum set and I slowly walked over to it. I ran my fingertips along the rim of the set and looked over to Miles.

"Damn these are bigger than I thought" I laughed. "Yeah, they're not exactly small" he laughed as he walked over and sat down on the seat behind the set. "Here, watch this"

He played something simple and explained some things to me. "You try" he said after a few minutes.

I was about to take the sticks when he grabbed my waist and pulled me down onto his lap. He put the sticks in my hands and held my wrists with his.

I tried to focus on the drumming and not our current position. It didn't work

"Wow, that was actually really good" he said, sounding a bit surprised.

"What, did you think I would suck?" I joked, standing up quickly. "Maybe" he shrugged. Turning away and hiding his smile.

"Dude, is that a guitar?!" I said, pointing to the blue guitar resting against the wall. "No, it's a flute" he said back sarcastically.

I laughed out loud—probably too loud—at his comment. "Yeah, it's a guitar" he said with a smile.

"You play that too?" I asked.

"Yeah"

"Damn" i said. "Guitar fingers" I muttered.

"What?" He laughed.

My eyes shot up.

"You heard that?"

"Yeah" he said, obviously trying to contain his laughter.

"I-I uhm, I- I was- I just- I meant-"

I was silenced by his finger pressing against my lips. "Shhhh" he hushed me softly.
"I'm not stupid, I know what you meant"

Only then did I notice how painfully close his face was to mine. He noticed at the same time I did snd I watched the red coat his pale cheeks. I smiled, letting out a small laugh as he awkwardly stepped back and stared at me. He watched me with a blank face as I excused myself from the room.

I scrambled to the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face. Fuck, Y/n! You're so stupid, even if he did like you, you just ruined it by being weird!

Did I ruin it though?

I totally did.

But did I?

Well maybe I-

My thoughts were cut off by a knock on the door. "W-who is it?" I called out, accidentally stumbling over my words. I mentally slapped myself as I awaited a response. "It's me, Miles" he spoke out from the other side. The red on my cheeks immediately returned. How am I falling for a boy I don't even know?

"Sorry" I said, opening the door to him standing there awkwardly. "You're good..?" He said, pushing me aside a bit as he walked in. I stood there stupidly for a second before quickly exiting and slamming the door shut.

I sat against my bed with my face buried in my knees, which were hugged up to my chest.

Why am I so stupid? I scolded myself.

Maybe things could have gone well, could've worked out, but no. I had to be stupid. Like always. That that time in the fourth grade. Oh, god, I'll never forget it. Chad, the cutest boy ever, I thought he liked me, and he did! But then I made it weird in front of his friends. And- wait... ugh! This isn't fourth grade, and this isn't a guy named Chad. It's Miles.

Funny how I think that, even though I don't even know Miles. I want to know him though. I desperately want him. I want to- oh god, my obsessiveness is showing

I sighed and ran my hands though my hair. I stood up only to see Miles standing in the door frame. Watching me. He was watching me.

"I know what you're feeling" he said emotionlessly. You do? I certainly don't.
He walked towards me and silently slipped a note into my hand, putting his finger to his lips as he backed away. "Shhhh" he whispered lowly as he left the room.

"What the fuck?" I questioned allowed.

The note was folded many times, it took me almost a full minute to undo all of the folds.

Don't beat yourself up, you didn't mess anything up. You talk out loud sometimes you know that? It's not full, coherent sentences, though, just little bits. Oh, and, by the way, I like you.

      - Miles

"What?" I whispered.
I turned the note over and it revealed a poem. About who? About a girl... with y/e/c eyes? A girl with.. y/h/c hair?

"Who..?" I whispered to myself again.

"Oh."

It's about me

My eyes scanned the poem over and over. He wrote this? About me?

"I'm Uh.. not the best writer"

His voice jolted me back to reality. "You? What? This amazing!" The words came out before I even knew what I was saying.

"I mean, it's okay" I said, trying to play it cool.

He laughed a bit. "Okay, but, it's true" he admitted.
"The poem?" I asked, holding it up in my hand for him to see.
"Yeah, the poem" he said, looking down at the floor with only his eyes.

I smiled and set the poem down on my bedside table.

I walked towards him and grabbed his face, pulling his lips to mine.

Wow, okay, y/n.. that was rushed I thought to myself

My eyes slowly opened, heavy from previous sleep. "Good morning" Miles said with a smile. I looked up at him and then to the poem, which was still sitting on the table. I smiled too and laid my head back against his chest, letting my eyelids grow heavy once again.
