No Lights On After 9 PM (short horror story)

No Lights On after 9 Pm

 "Ellie!"

No response was given

"Ellie...?"

Footsteps were heard as it walked across the old wooden stairs.

"ELLIE!!"

A horrified scream erupts

Ellie's parents were going away on a trip, a little trip to a resort. Elllie's parents trusted her to take care of herself as she was 17 and almost an adult. Ellie's parents only gave her one simple rule, No Lights On After 9 Pm. Ellie never really questions why her parents made that rule but she just followed it. 

Ellie was home alone just watching Tv, when she checked her watch and realized it was almost 9 Pm, it was 8:55. Eliie quickly sprang to her feet, knocking over the bowl of popcorn she was eating and frantically turning off the lights, the living room, dining room, laundry room, all the bathroom lights, bedroom lights, she checked her watch again at 8:59. She did it. But there was a light at the end of the hallway.... She forgot the kitchen lights.

   She quickly picked up her feet and ran to the light switch, and when she was about to reach them, the light started to flicker, she stopped in her tracks. She thought it was faulty wiring or that the lightbulb was short on its life. Yeah that must be it, she tried to Rationalize her thoughts to know what was going on, that was before she heard a growl behind her, her blood still like ice, like a winter storm. 

She slowly turned around and came face-to-face with something supernatural. She couldn't explain what it was but she wanted to scream but couldn't. The being Looks so human but unreal at the same time. The body was completely black like a void and like a black hole in space waiting to suck you up. It had horns and claws the size of the finest sharpest knife. She made a bee-line to her room with this thing chasing her, before she could make it to her room, the being grabbed her leg and yanked her backwards, she fell to the floor crying and whimpering.

 The creature's claws dig into her back, drawing blood, so much blood that it's soaking her shirt. She wailed in agony and pain, spewing gibberish as tears stained her cheeks and her eyes were red and puffy from the crying. She kicked the creature as much as she could. Apparently, the creature didn't like that, it bit down onto her neck, hearing a ripping sound throughout the house, she stopped moving, gasping for air. 

The creature stands and moves to the nearest shadow, Ellie didn't know how much time passed, but it's been days, and her parents are now returning, that's why the creature was retreating, after killing her. The creature went to the nearest shadow, and vanished. 

Ellie said there, accepting her fate, ready to move on, until she heard a door open, and footsteps moving. The footsteps got closer, but Ellie couldn't hear them, her ears were like insects, that felt like they've taken over her ears and were buzzing like crazy. She can feel her heart slow, kinda like a snail. Her breathing ceased, but not before she heard a shrill scream of a woman, her mother.
