The next morning she woke up and made herself some breakfast.
She checked her email and saw that a friend of hers had emailed her about the company she worked for and the man Roger was working for, George Edward Chandler.
Rylee went outside and found a spot where she could see Cleo's and George's complex from the fence.
She watched for an hour and the man George was watching Cleo.He wasn't acting suspicious so Rylee went back inside and put on her mask and gloves and went back outside.
She saw George go into the apartment and her heart pounded.She saw George leave the apartment with the suitcase and go into the elevator.
He pressed for the first floor but then hit the floor button again.
Rylee decided to go down but a fire alarm went off.Rylee ran outside.The police started to run around to the building and Rylee followed, asking what was going on.Someone yelled her name but she couldn't see who it was.They yelled her name again and Rylee realized it was Steve.
She told him to come with her and he started to come and then turned around to Rylee and kept running.Steve stopped and turned around and Rylee grabbed his arm and helped him back up.Then Steve saw George and ran away to get help.
Rylee realized she had to go back to the building.She started to run but the police officer yelled at her to stop.She did and then another officer, Mike, told her to follow his command and Rylee went back inside the building and began to search for Roger.
Rylee couldn't find him anywhere so she searched his office and found his body.She then found Cleo with blood on her lips and Roger's gun.A gun that belonged to Roger.The cops started asking questions about the gun but Cleo said she didn't know anything about it.
Rylee knew that was BS but she let Cleo go.
A few days later, Rylee was out for a jog and she thought of all the different people Roger and Cleo would be with, Roger at the country club and Cleo at the ballet.
They would be together without anyone to stop them.I didn't like this book.It was just too much about death.It made me very sad that someone killed his wife and him.
It just seemed too coincidental that Roger would kill himself right when Cleo was going to give him an ultimatum.I also thought it was a bit weird that the police showed up the second that she called the cops.
If the police had shown up the day before when she had talked to them, would they still have let her go.Also, you should know that I don't usually read or watch those type of movies / TV shows so I was not familiar with the characters.Although I'm not sure that helped me any.
I think Rylee was a great main character.
She was smart and good with computers, so she was always able to help the police.
She loved her dad but she didn't like it when he didn't see what was going on with George and Cleo.
