Late at night. You we're laying in bed scrolling through social media. You just had a long day at school and was able to stay home for the rest of the afternoon and night. Feeling bored and no longer tired, you had the bright idea to go out. You remember hearing about an abandoned hospital somewhere in the woods. Not knowing why there was a hospital in the woods in the first place, but the fact that it was abandoned made it just as exciting. Feeling the rush and excitement was something you adore. Some have called you an adrenaline junky but you don't care at all. So what if you liked the rush and they didn't.
You got everything prepared for when you head out. All you had to do was wait till everyone was asleep to set your plan into action. 12am, go time. You grabbed what you planned on taking which was a switch blade, folded up tot bag, and your phone. Sneaking out was not a problem, considering you've done it multiple times. Now outside you've started to make your way to the woods. It was a pleasant walk. Neon lights light up the streets of the city you needed to go through to reach your destination. You've now reached the outer part of the woods. Walking right in, making your way to the hospital was easier then you had originally thought. Only took you about fifteen minutes to get there. Standing right in front of the building to get a good look at the place, you've notice a couple of things you would expected from something that has been abandoned for years. Windows broken, vines making there way up and around the place, and the chillin atmosphere it gave. Though your thoughts were making you doubt yourself, you pushed them down and made your way inside.
The front door was half broken off so you climbed over the bottom half of what was left. Once you've entered you could see the front desk up ahead, a lobby with missing chairs and torn paintings laying around on the left, and a hallway with not much to the right. Making your way to the front desk, you started to dig around. Not like no one's here to care anyways so might as well take what you like. It's not stealing if the stuff had been left abandoned. Finding nothing of interest at the front desk you decided to head up to the next floor. Finding the stair case was easy. Now on the second floor you started going room to room to find anything of interest. So far you found bandages, hydrogen peroxide, band aids, and an unopened bottle of water. Pulling out your tot bag you stuff all your finding inside. Now on the next floor you found surgical needles and thread, surprisingly clean rags and a small pack of napkins. While searching the third floor, you heard something hit the ground on the floor above. You started to sneak your way up to the fourth floor, trying not to make a sound. Walking down the hall slowly so you could listen to what could be making noise. You reach a door that is open slightly. Pecking though the sliver you could see someone inside rummaging around. You've noticed that they had a limp in there frantic search for what ever they are looking for. You failed to notice that you we're now leaning forward, causing you to slightly push the door. A quiet creak came from this action, but did not go unnoticed by the other inside. In a blink of an eye the person inside whipped there head around to look at what cause the noise. You panicked and freezes in place. "Show yourself!" He growled. Wait, growled? You took a moment to get the courage you need to open the door all the way. You slowly pushed the door open stepping inside the room. The stranger looked surprised but shifted his face back to hostility. Feeling a drop of sweat roll down your forehead you spoke up. "Uh hi" was all you said. Seconds later he spoke, "Who are you, and what are you doing here?" You stiffened to the man's low ruff voice. Not sure on what to do, you introduced yourself. "Reader, my name is Reader." He looked you up and down, and stared at you for what felt like forever. Then he spoke again,"Well are you gonna stand there or are you gonna finish answering my questions?" He said in a annoyed and impatient manner. You flinched then spoke up again, "Oh, right. Sorry, I'm just here to explore a bit till I heard something crash against the floor." You said fast. After that he huffed and told you to leave. He turns around a bit but still somewhat faced you. You took this time to observe the man in front of you. Hunched over a bit but you could tell he was tall if he could stand straight up. Taking a good look at him you noticed he didn't look mortal. He had black hair, red mark on his face going over his eye brows and ending at his nose. Looking at his attire, he had a red cape or cloak like fabric draped over him. Hard to tell what else he had but then notice blood on the floor. Confused you followed the blood with your eyes to see where it was coming from. The trail of blood lead to the man. Unsure of what to do you stood there. He noticed your lack of movement and turned his full attention to you. "What did I say? Leave now!" He yelled. You flinched from the sudden sentence. You wanted to leave but for some reason leaving this guy hurt and bleeding felt wrong when you had what he seemed to be looking for on hand. Building up the courage you spoke up. "Do you need help?" He looked at you confused. "What?" He flatly said. "Do you need help? I think I've got the stuff you are looking for." You said holding up your bag with everything in it. He shook his head while chuckling. "Kid, I don't think you know what I am, so why don't you just go home." He said. You looked at him "But I want to help." You responded back. Ok now he was more confused then before. Who was this kid and why did they wanted to help him? "Kid look, I'm dangerous. I don't think you want to help someone like me." He plainly said. Ok now it was your turn to be confused. Why won't he let you help him? He clearly needs it. "You don't look dangerous to me, specially when you are hurt like this." You sassed him. He gave a look of annoyance. "Look kid I'll give you one more chance to turn around and leave." He growled. At this point you weren't afraid. You puffed out your chest and spoke once more. "Nope, I'm helping you. And you can't say no." His eyes widen as you made your way to him. He stepped back a bit, but stopped moving once you we're right in front of him. You reached your hand out to grab him so you could set him down. Surprisingly he didn't refuse or at least try and stop you. Once he was settled on the floor you laid everything out. You asked him to show you where his wounds are. Rolling his left pants leg up, you could see blood stained on his fur. Ok, who or what was this guy. You knew he was a demon but what kind? After putting pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding, you started to disinfect the wound with hydrogen peroxide. But before pouring the chemical on his wound you told him that this was gonna sting. He hummed in agreement. You started to pour the liquid onto the wound. The man tensed up and hissed from the pain. You applied some more pressure to try and lessen the pain for him. Not sure if it worked but you could feel him relax a bit. Continuing, you pulled out the needle and thread. You told him to try and relax because you didn't find any numbing ointment. You started to do a basic stitch to the man's wound. He tensed up a bit but you could tell he was taking this easier then the hydrogen peroxide. After stitching up the wound you asked him to show you the other wounds. After cleaning and patching him up. You pulled your hands away and looked at him. He scanned himself and hummed in satisfaction. He looked up at you and stared. "What?" Was all he said. "What's your name and a thank you would be nice." You responded. His eyes widen just a bit but chuckled at your response. "The name is Macaque, Six Eared Macaque is my full name. And thank you for helping me." He said. You smiled at him, "Well it's nice to meet you Macaque, and you are welcome." You stood up and held out a hand for Macaque to grab. He grab your had and lifted himself up with the help from you. "So, why is your name Six Eared Macaque? Are you like a monkey demon and why don't you have six ears?" You ask. "Wow calm down kid, yes I am a monkey demon, and my title is old so no need to say Six Eared Macaque. Just Macaque is fine." You looked at him confused for a moment. "If you're a monkey demon then where is your tai-" you trailed off a bit looking behind him only to just now notice his tail swaying behind him. You looked back up at him and smiled awkwardly. "Sorry I didn't notice your tail until now." You said while rubbing the back of your neck. "Ha! No sweat kid." He said while crossing his arms and smirking at you. "Well it was nice meeting you, hope to see you again." You smiled and reached your hand out for him to shake. He looked at you and smiled back. "Nice meeting you to kid, see you around sometime then." He said while taking your hand and shaking it. You both let go of each others hand. He turned and jumped onto the window ceil then jumped off. You smiled then turned on your heels to leave the room. Once outside the hospital, you looked back and take one more good look at the place before heading in the direction you came from. On the walk back home was pleasant like how it was on the way to the hospital. You realize that you hadn't checked your phone in awhile so you did. 1:30am, jeez you thought. Finally making it home you snuck back in and changed into some more comfortable attire. Laying down on your bed, you looked back on what happen at the hospital. You smiled and chuckled at the unexpected meeting. You rolled onto your side while pulling the blankets over you. "Guess I've made a new friend." You said as you closed your tired eyes to succumb to slumber.
