Hello, I'm Violet Amos, 18 years old, starting my senior year in high school. World War 3 lasted for four years, and I'm going to school tomorrow, which I'm excited about. However, this school is different; seniors stay on campus and live there, making me super nervous. I've laid out my school uniform and some white boots.

The next day, we don't have to be there until about 10:00 in the morning, so I got the rest of my stuff into my car and drove to the school. I wanted coffee, so I stopped at Cafe O' Potter and ordered a large cappuccino and a bagel. As I sat down at a table, I heard the door open, and that's when I saw him - Noah Hart, my arch-nemesis and the world's biggest jerk. He looked at me and smirked, then ordered his stuff and decided to sit with me. I glared at him, and he just smirked and drank his coffee. Then he said, "Hello, teacup."

"I told you I don't like being called that," I stated blankly.

He sat up straight, and his hand went through his hair. "Since when do I care, teacup?" He said, using his hand to stroke my face. I moved my face away from him. He got up, threw his trash away, and then came back to me, looking down because I was still sitting. He smirked and whispered in my ear, "See you at school." The air from his mouth brushed against my skin, and when he was satisfied with himself, he left.

When I got to my school, it was 9:57 in the morning, and I had to get to the auditorium. I took a seat in the second row. It was 10:00, and Headmaster Whitlock went on the stage, looking uncomfortable. "Attention, students, welcome back this year. I know we had a rough last few years. Now, a few announcements for 9th through 11th graders: not much is happening, but please, no pranks or ridiculous things. Thank you."

I was about to ask something, but then he continued, "12th graders, please stay after; the rest of you are dismissed." All the other grades left. "Now I have news that will impact your future. Due to the population decrease from the war, it went down by 70%, and the government has a new law for citizens aged 18 to 35 to have partners, be married, and have or be pregnant with a child within a year."

This is ridiculous; they can't do this!

"Now I have done everything I can to see if this whole situation could be prevented, but as you can see, it didn't. Now you will take a test to find out who you are most compatible with." We were handed papers with a few questions, like:

1. What are some good qualities you want in your future husband/wife?
I want someone to help with the house and someone I can compete with.

2. How many kids do you want?
I want a maximum of 4.

And more questions like that. I put my name on it and turned it in. We were told it would be an hour before we would know who we would end up spending the rest of our lives with.
